It is True! The Lord has Risen!

Hello everyone!
Just a quick post today, but I wanted to give you one more sneak peek at one of the sets being released April 1 at Our Daily Bread designs!  The floral on this card is from a set called Mom.  It's beautiful!  There are 4 fabulous sets coming tomorrow so don't forget to stop by the ODBD blog to have a chance to win some ODBD cash!!!

This card was made for this week's Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge to pop it up, based on Is. 40:31
"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

The challenge was to mount it up as in paper tole, not just add one layer.  I stamped the largest flower 3 times and popped up various parts for the paper tole effect.

I also used Cross of Christ and The Lord has Risen for this card, both from ODBD.  The DP is  SEI Claire, image is colored with Copics, and I used a SB Frame that I cut down to fit and the SB Label 2 to cut the image panel.  Stickles and ZVA Creative pearls finish it off.

As you look forward to your Easter celebration, I hope your hearts and minds are focused on just what was accomplished for us on that cross!  Ponder the price the Savior paid, and how much He must value each one of us to do that for us!  Have a blessed Easter!

Easter Cross Box

Hello everyone!  Happy Tuesday!

Today I wanted to show you a little box I made for an Easter gift.  This little cross box is the perfect size to hold some yummy Lindt Truffles or other yummy treats for Easter.  I have one very special person in mind for this. :)  This week's ODBD Shining the Light Challenge is to think  Easter!  Why not play along?

I covered the  chipboard cross with yummy shimmery designer paper from SEI (Chocolate).  It is a silvery paper with little gold sanded lines throughout.  It's so elegant!  I decorated it with the March release Our Daily Bread designs set  Easter Blessings (the Lily of the Valley) and The Lord has Risen (the sentiment).  I used the Spellbinders Fancy Tags which I sponged with Brilliance Platinum Planet Ink.  It really gives it a shine.  To make the Fancy Tag longer for the vertical panel I cut it and taped it to the back of the horizontal panel so it would better fill the cross. I then adhered them to the box with pop dots to give more dimension.  The Lily of the Valley is watercolored and then cut out, and sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Pearl for LOTS of shimmer! I added some white ribbon to the bottom of the flower.

For the lid, I added some self adhesive paper ribbon from K&Co.  This little box holds 6 Truffles.

This qualifies for several challenges:

Fussy and Fancy Friday - Easter
Paper Play - Easter
Stamp Simply - Easter
Stampin for the weekend - Easter

Lexi Creations - Easter
Craft Challenge - Easter

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Please be sure to stop back on April 1 for a new release and a lot of fun for all!!!  Check it out at the Our Daily Bread designs blog on the first!   For a sneak peek at what's coming just scroll down one post.  Just one of four GREAT new sets coming Thursday!!! See you then!

Mom CAS

Hello everyone!  Where did this week go?  I know it flew for me because I spent most of my week in TN helping out my daughter with the kids so she could work.  She works evenings and her hubby was away so Grandma to the rescue! LOL!  Like it was a big problem for me???? We had a blast and I just thank God every day that we live only a couple hours away now so we can get together more!!!

Anyway.... because I was away, I am running like mad to catch up since I got home late this afternoon!  I wanted to share a sneak peek with your of a new release coming on April 1 at Our Daily Bread designs.  This image is from the set Happy Mother's Day, and the sentiment is from another set called Mom.  Both sets are beautiful and so versatile.  They include those hard to find words like Daughter, Grandma, and more... Stay tuned for more sneaks soon!

I made it for this week's Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge, to make a Clean and Simple card.  For me, THAT is a challenge!!!  I loved the verse the challenge was based on....

Ps. 51:7-10 "Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.  Let me hear joy and gladness, let the bones you have crushed rejoice.  Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.  Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me."

A wonderful prayer to pray daily, wouldn't you agree?

This also qualifies for the following challenges:

Creative Cottage- Sparkle (Embossing and sparkle on Butterfly)
Frosted Designs - Vellum (Butterfly)
Paper Garden - Spring and  embossing
Crazy 4 Challenges - Spring
Challenge Up Your Life - Spring Flowers
Jacksonbelle - Spring

Incy Wincy- Easter or Spring
Allsorts - Spring is in The Air

My Soul Finds Rest in God Alone

Hello everyone!  Today I have a wonderful Scripture card to share with you from the newly released Our Daily Bread designs Scripture Collection 4 and the Vine Borders set.  I stamped with Memento Ink on GPW and used the Stamp- a- ma- jig to center the verse in the frame.  I lightly colored in a bit of the vine border with olive green.  I cut panel with SB Long Scalloped Rectangles, then matted with brushed silver and old olive.  My textured embossing is Sizzix, and I cut the lower edge with an EK Success Punch.  I duplicated that layer with an olive layer and then matted on silver, and on a base of white.  The Fleur de lis is Spellbinders with tiny pearls added.  I used a textured silver ribbon then covered that with a sheer ribbon and tied on a little charm that was a RAK from a dear friend.

This qualifies for the following challenges:
Totally Gorjuss - Ribbons

Hand Full of Stamps - Remove the dust (silver ribbon)

Practical Scrappers - Use Something you have had for over 1yr(ribbon)
I love this verse.  What a comfort... the world around us may be in a terrible state, but our assurance in our God, who never changes,  and we can rest in that. " My soul finds rest in God alone, my salvation comes from Him.  He alone is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken."

I am away from my computer visiting with family, and this post is on auto pilot.  I will be back later with some new things to share with you.  Have a blessed day and thanks so much for stopping! I love knowing you were here!

Praying Your Day will be filled with Joy!

Hello everyone! Happy Saturday!
I made this card with the March Our Daily Bread designs sets The Lord has Risen and the sentiment is from Easter Blessings.  I also entered it in to the Our Daily Bread designs Shining the Light Challenge, which was to think spring/ new life. (If you have not been playing these weekly challenges, you SHOULD!  A great chance to win prizes and awards!)  Today's inspiration challenge on SCS was Cutest Food and while I can only link to the page, not the photo, I chose a beautiful cake iced in this color spring green and the field was filled with little violet colored flowers and it screamed spring.

For this card I used some dp from the ODBd store (Prima Indeed Lilac) and Bazzill purple and green.  I also used my Lotus Blossom Spellbinders, which I cut from white and sponged with SEI Clover Chalk Ink.  I then wove the May Arts ribbon in and out of the Lotus and tied it with thin wire behind the blossom so it poofed in the front and got tight in the back.  The ribbon is pretty wide so if I didn't tie it, it just didn't look right.  I stamped one extra Violet image and cut them all out, colored with Copics and popped up on dimensionals arount the sentiment which is cut with the SB Label 6.  The butterflies are punches from MS.  The one on the top left is punched from a scrap of K&Co flocked Vellum! Yummy!

I hope you like my springy card, and  thanks for visiting!  Blessings on your weekend!

Midnight Madness Tiled Petunias

Hello everyone!  I hope you have had a wonderful week!  Today I wanted to play in a couple of challenges.  I made this for MMSC45 and also for the Saturday Spotlight, to slick it up!
I am also entering it in:
Secret Crafter Challenge (Anything Goes).
Cute Daisy May - Anything Goes
Ooh-la-la Creations - Anything Goes
Paper Cutz Challenge - Anything Goes
Challenge Up Your Life - Bouquet/Flower
The Crazy Challenge - Simple & Elegant

My card is 5 x 7 so it's a lot bigger than I usually make, and I had to photograph it flat, so I'm sorry about the ugly photo!  This week's MMSC fancy option intrigued me to say the least!  I had colored up this image from Serendipity Stamps with Copics, and decided to try it for this sketch, so I cut it all up!  I then sponged T Holtz Distress Ink in Black Soot around all the edges, and attached them to a black piece of cs.  I then embossed the whole thing 3 times with Ranger Ultra Thick Embossing Powder.  It really gave a thick glossy shine.  I had intended to crackle it at this point, but decided I liked the clean white tile look so left it. I think that qualifies it for the Crazy Challenge, which is simple and elegant.  For the butterfly I stamped a second one, embossed it as well, bent the wings when it was still hot, and then attached it to the card.  The corner treatments are Spellbinders.  It's actually a simple card, and different for me, but I have someone in mind who I think will love it.

If you hopped along with us on any part of our Our Daily Bread designs Anniversary celebration, please check out the ODBD Blog to see all the winners!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed weekend!!!

ODBD Second Anniversary Special Edition Release Blog Hop

Hello everyone!  The big day is finally here!!!  Today is the Second Anniversary of Our Daily Bread designs!  We've been celebrating for the last 5 days with daily challenges, prizes, blog candy and lots of fun!  If you came here from Chris' Blog, you are in the right place!  If not you might want to start at the ODBD Blog and hop in the order given there so you can collect the secret letters in order!

Today, Kelley is releasing Four new and truly wonderful Special Edition sets! They are near and dear to our hearts, because each of us on the Design Team submitted one of our favorite Scripture verses that we would like to put on a card, and those Scripture Verses are two of the sets being released today. If that wasn't exciting enough... she also created two sets of gorgeous borders that fit the Scriptures! If you want that special touch to present your sentiments in... these borders are it!

Today's Blog Hop is special because it allows each of the Design Team members to make the first card with their own favorite Scripture! We hope you will truly enjoy the hop... and of course it wouldn't be a Blog Hop without prizes! Today, Kelley is going to give 3 Prizes of your choice of one of these new Anniversary sets!

My card uses Phil. 4:6, the verse I submitted.  "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God".  There wasn't really room for the next verse, but vs. 7 goes on to say "And the peace of God,which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."  What a comfort these verses are to me! I can think of so many times that these are just the right words for a card I want to send!  I hope you are blessed by them as well!

My Card details:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs Scripture Collection 4, ODBD Vine Borders
Verse and border are stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Ranger Gold EP on Papertrey Vintage Cream CS.  I cut out the verse and mounted on Legacy Designer Paper by Design Originals. Ran cream cs through to emboss with Cuttlebug ef, rubbed with VersaMark and brushed with gold Perfect Pearls, then sprayed with Tattered Angels Iredescent Gold Glimmer Mist.
Accessories: Gold thread and sewing machine, Prima Flowers, Cross Charm, May Arts sheer ribbon, Gold wire

Now let me encourage you to continue on the hop!
Here is what you have to do to qualify for the prizes:
  • Hop from first to last, and collect the secret LETTER each designer will have.
  • Leave a comment for the designer on their blog.
  • Return  to the ODBD blog, leaving a comment to tell us that you visited all the blogs.
  • Email me at: gnywening@yahoo.com, giving me the secret message the letters spell.

You have until 8:00 PM EST on Mar 18th to complete the hop and email me the message. The winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on Mar. 19th!
From here you need to go visit Debi!
My secret letter is:  Y
 Blog Candy Update!

ODBD's Second Anniversary Celebration Challenge Day 4

Hello everyone! Welcome to day 4 of the Our Daily Bread designs Second Anniversary Celebration! March 17th is Our Daily Bread design's Second Anniversary! Beginning on Mar. 13th we have been issuing daily challenges with great prizes, and each day we have been giving away blog candy... and our celebration will culminate tomorrow when we have a special blog hop to reveal the VERY Special Edition Anniversary Sets! Today, the challenge is to use your ALL TIME FAVORITE Our Daily Bread designs set! How fun!!! You have until 8:00pm EST to link your creation to the Our Daily Bread designs Blog All Time Favorites Post. Please use Mr Linky to link your creation, and the only stipulation on this challenge is that it must be new work... no back links, and please link the ODBD Challenge in your post. Have fun with it!!!

For my sample, I used my all time favorite set, Sing to the Lord. I also wanted to honor DT sister, Angie Crockett, who was SCS Featured Stamper a couple weeks ago. I did not get to play then, so I chose one of her absolutely fantastic cards to case today. Angie... thanks for the inspiration!!!

My base is Papertrey Dark Chocolate, then Pink Bazzill, and the dp is Memory Box. I stamped the image with Memento and colored with Copics. I stamped several of the flower images and cut them all out. The sentiment is stamped in Chocolate Chip and cut with SB Classic Ovals and Scalloped Classic Oval. The ribbon is May Arts, and on them I added three images I stamped on Poly Shrink and cut with my scalloped circles by SU! and then baked in my toaster oven. So fun!!! I used a MS Lattice Edge Punch tucked up under the ribbon to finish it off.

So that's my favorite ODBD set (or at lease ONE of them)... what's yours??? I hope you'll play along and remember to link your card to the ODBD Blog post by 8pm EST tonight for a chance to win a FREE STAMP SET from the ODBD Store!!! The Winner will be announced tomorrow when the blog hop is posted!!!

Once again, today we are hiding some blog candy along the way, and in order to win it you must have left a comment and you will not know which blogs have the candy, so please be sure to visit all my DT sisters linked below to be inspired by their creations, and leave a comment for a chance to win the candy. The blog owners who have the candy will select the winner tonight and announce it tomorrow on their blogs, so be sure to check back to see if you won!  So, IF I have candy today... you will see it here tomorrow along with the name of a winner drawn from those who comment today!   If you miss that... on Mar. 19th I will be announcing ALL the WINNERS of our special week of celebration... the challenge winners, the blog candy winners, and of course, the winners of our special blog hop when we will reveal the new Special Edition Anniversary Sets... and that hop is tomorrow!!! ODBD's Second Anniversary Celebration and Challenge: Day 2

Hello everyone! Welcome to Day 2 of the Our Daily Bread design's Second Anniversary Celebration! I hope you have had a chance to play along on yesterday's challenge! ( Just for your information, ALL the week's challenges were posted on the Our Daily Bread designs Blog on Mar. 7 as well as a link to that post posted in our SCS Member Forum, because we wanted you ALL to have time to play and have plenty of chances to win!!!)

Today, our challenge is an inspiration challenge, inspired by a Collage of various China, since China is the "Contemporary Gift" for the second anniversary! Here is the photo we used for our inspiration:

Totally gorgeous and inspiring pieces in this photo!!! Our challenge is to use any one of these pieces or to use the overall china theme to make your creation. We hope you'll play along with us, and link your creation to the Anniversary Celebrations Day 2 post with Mr Linky on the ODBD Blog by 8:00pm EST Monday! Please link the challenge in your post, and only new work, no back links please. The winner will receive a $20.00 Gift Certificate to go toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread designs store!!!

I used "Path of Life" and colored it with a combination of water color and chalks. The chalks are Pearlescent by Pebbles and added a shimmer to the whole scene. I added Ultra fine Flower Soft in Citrus Crush and Rasberry Fizz. I layered the scene on a mat of gold and used my Martha Stewart Mega Edge Punch to make the lattice border. The flowers are mostly ZVA Creative, and I added a touch of Stickles to the edges of the petals, and some MS punched leaves. I just love this set and it was so fun to color!  I also entered this into Stampin Sisters in Christ's challenge today which was based on Ps. 29:11"The Lord will give strength unto His people; the Lord will bless his people with peace".  The challenge was to make a project using a peaceful image or verse about peace.  When I saw it, I knew this image had to be it!  The peace that God gives is a peace beyond our own comprehension... it's an inner peace between us and God... that He has forgiven our sins and placed us in relationship with Him, because of the shed blood of Christ.  When we have received Him, He promises to show us the path of life, which is the name of this set.  What a blessed thought for the Lord's day!

To see the samples the rest of the Joint Design Team and Challenge Team created, please visit the links listed below! There is HIDDEN BLOG CANDY on some of the blogs, but you can only win if you have left a comment.... so be sure to leave everyone some love! The owners of the Blogs that have the candy will be drawing their winners tonight and announcing them tomorrow, so be sure to check back then! Just in case you miss that... on March 19th I will be posting on the ODBD Blog a re-cap of the entire week's winners.... there will be MANY!!!
Each Challenge will have a winner, the Blog Hop on the 17th will have fabulous prizes.... and then there are blog candies Mar. 13th through 16th! LOTS of chances to win!!!

The Flowers are telling me... spring is coming!

Hello everyone! I hope it's beautiful where you are! It is pouring here, but the rain is bringing the spring bulbs up already, so I know spring is here.

I made this card for several challenges. I used the MMSC44 for my layout, used Betty's ODBD Stamping in Time Challenge 5 to use something new, (as well as WT261), Stampin Sisters in Christ's challenge to represent Joy (see below for the Scripture inside), Cupcake Challenge 81 (Flower Power), Stamp w/ Fun (Spring), Sophisticat (Flourishes and Bling). Whew! LOL!

This beautiful image is from the newly released set "Happy Easter" from Our Daily Bread designs. I stamped on Neenah cs, colored with Copics, made a mask of a Spellbinder's label 10 and airbrushed the bg, masking the flowers off. I highlighted the daffodil with a clear glitter gel pen. The base is a new Coredinations cs that I LOVE! The dp is The First Blush by Prima. The ribbon is Martha Stewart and the pearl flourishes are ZVA Creative, while the little pearl flowers are making Memories. It was fun working on such a happy card when the weather is so gloomy!

The inside of the card is where I put the sentiment, which is from another newly released ODBD set "The Lord Has Risen". I stamped it with Memento, then cut with SB label 10, placed the smallest cross from my brand new Spellbinders cross set in the center and sponged all around it, using it as a mask. The picture doesn't do the inside justice. Used a MS punch on the scrap of dp that was left from the front .Thanks so much for looking! I love knowing you were here!

Have a blessed day! Thank God for His rich blessings!

Merci Bouquet Sketch

Hello everyone!
I had time for a little playing for the fun of it this afternoon after I got home. I played in the sketch challenge on SCS. I flipped it on it's side and used my new Layers Of Color stamp Set called Merci Bouquet. I just love it! There are so many fun little images in the set and I'm looking forward to using more of the stamps. For this one I stamped on Neenah paper and colored with Copics, then added plenty of sponging for a vintage look. My image is on a Spellbinder's Label 6 and that is mounted on the label 10. The Sentiment is stamped with Chocolate Chip on the smallest Mega Oval and the scrolls are also Spellbinders mini set, I believe it was called Symbology. The designer paper is by Prima, called First Blush, and the base is Bazzill. The gold is textured and is from my scrap box. The beautiful lace is a RAK from my sweet friend Pat Smethers! This was fun and even with the sewing went quite quickly!

I am entering this in:
The Cuttlebug Spot Challenge - Vintage
Polycraft Challenge - Distress / Distress Inks
Sophisticat Challenge - Flourishes / bling

Hope you are having a blessed day! Thanks for taking a peek!

A walk down memory lane

Hello everyone! I hope you've had a wonderful weekend! It certainly flew by here!!! I do have one card to show you however. I made this card with the Our Daily Bread designs March 1 release "The Lord has Risen". I chose to leave the front with just the image and put my sentiment inside. You will love the sentiments with these floral sets! Perfect for Easter, but also lots of other occasions! Please check them out!!!

These violets bring back so many memories for me! My Grandmother had such beautiful violets... deep purples, blues and white violets! I used to just love to pick them and make little bouquets and put them in this dainty little vase she had. To this day I love violets and the happy memories!!!

I stamped these on Neenah cs and colored with Copics. I cut the image panel with the new Spellbinder's Label 13 and sponged lightly with olive ink. I cut the purple Bazzill SB Lattice Pentant, embossed it and mounted my image on that. That is mounted on a white layer cut with a Martha Stewart all around edge punch, and embossed with a wonderful embossing folder from Crafts Too. This layer is then mounted on a green designer paper from Lasting Impressions, and on a base of Bazzill. I kept the layout simple, only adding some stickles to the violets, and a bow I tied with two ribbons, and a pretty stick pin with elements received from sweet Sabrina! She does these like no other! Thanks Sabrina!

Thank you for looking today and I love knowing you have been here! I hope your new week will be filled with blessings!

Please check out the ODBD Blog today for a special sneak peek at the CHALLENGES we will be having every day from Mar 13 through 17th, as we celebrate Our Daily Bread design's second anniversary!!! There will be prizes galore, blog candy, and the release of some VERY special second anniversary release sets! The challenges will be one a day and due by 8pm EST that day... so we are giving them to you NOW so you can get a head start on them!!! Please check out the blog... write down the challenges, and play along for lots of chances at lots of prizes!!!

Spring is coming!

Hello everyone!  The sun is out today and the air is fresh... there is hope that spring is just around the corner!   I made this card for several challenges including the Midnight Madness Sketch #43, shown here,

and Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge #28  which is based on this verse:

Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

SSIC challenge was an anything goes challenge except that we were to pray and praise as we were creating.  With these beautiful new spring and Easter sets from Our Daily Bread designs, how could I not praise my Lord and Savior?!!  The hope and joy that is ours because of what Christ did for us on the cross, the the peace we have because of His resurrection, what we celebrate on Easter is beyond comprehension!

I used the new March release set from ODBD, Happy Easter, although I plan to use this as a birthday card, with the sentiment inside.  The image is stamped with Memento, colored with Copics and cut out.  I used my Spellbinders Classic Oval and Scalloped Ovals to cut the image panel, and embossed with a Sizzix EF.  I llightly sponged about everything with SEI Chalk Ink (Clover).  I added bling (ZVA Creative pearls), Sparkle ( Stickles on the stamens, Sakura clear glitter pen) on the butterflies, texture with the CB Swiss Dot EF, and some lace ribbon.  I also added a button and lace ribbon tab to qualify for the Stamp Something Recipe

I am also entering this in the following challenges:
Pink Elephant - Add green
Papertake Weekly - Buttons, Bows, Bling
Quizotic - Leave it out - use leaves
Simon Says - Girly
Paper Cutz #30- Feminie Birthday
C.R.A.F.T. - Mother's Day or Floral Theme
Cute Card Thursday -Use green

Thanks so much for stopping by and saying hello!  I love knowing you have visited!
Blessings on your day!

A touch of vintage and a sketch

Hello everyone!  I hope your week is going great!  It's snowing here again!  In the 10 years I've lived in NC I have never seen so much snow!  But I'm enjoying it still.  It's beautiful when it's coming down!

Today I'm showing you a card I made for sketch challenge 269 on SCS.  I used my new Layers of Color stamps.... a set called Nature Walk.  I had fun with this one, and love the way the stamps stamp!  The sketch was simple and I didn't layer it up to death! LOL!  My base is Papertrey Vintage Cream, sponged with TH Distress Ink.  I stamped the flourish with Chocolate Chip and Walnut Stain, stamped the flower with Memento, and colored the flower with Copic Marker BG10, then spritzed with Tattered Angels Irredescent Gold Glimmer Mist.  The designer papers are K&Co and My Mind's Eye.  I added some crocheted lace for a slight vintage feel.  I love it when cards just come together quickly!  This one did.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Lexi's Creations - Anything Goes
Tellen's Place - Anything Goes
crafty creations: #56 cut it out and pop it up
Practical scrappers: inks.
Crazy 4 Challenges: textures

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a most blessed week!

This is a box I altered using the New Release Blessed Easter stamp set form Our  Daily Bread Designs.  The image is stamped in Memento ink and water colored.  I then cut it out and adhered it to the Spellbinders Labels 13  and Lattice pendant dies.  The border around the box is created with a Lattice Border Punch by Martha Stewart.  The pearls, I felt, just added the extra elegance.  They are from Zva Creative.  The DP is Chatterbox Apple green vine.
Altered Box Recipe:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs- Blessed Easter
Paper: Chatterbox, Gina K Pure Luxury White,
Accessories: Spellbinders Labels 13 and Lattice Pendant dies, MS Lattice border Punch, ZVA Creative Pearls, May Arts Ribbon
