Piece or Peace?

Lttle-Frieda-six-for-you

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday! With Sunday comes another Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge! This week, Lisa is our hostess, and for this week's Scripture, she has chosen Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." This is one of my favorite verses! I have to be reminded often not to be anxious. I am learning... that with fervent prayer, that anxiety can be turned over to the God who loves me and wants only the best for me. I can truly attest to the truth of this verse because I have felt that peace that transcends all understanding. I have been in life threatening situations, and felt that peace... what's the worst that can happen to me? I die? Well... for the Christian, that is not something to be feared! In fact... being in the presence of my Savior will be more wonderful than anything I've ever experienced on earth! This verse assures me that this peace will guard my heart and my mind! Yes, anxiety does come sometimes, but when I'm really leaving it at His feet... He gives me peace and helps me keep my mind from dwelling on destructive thoughts, anxieties and fears.

The challenge is a fun one!
A different kind of peace... piece... as in paper piecing. Use paper piecing in the main image of your card/project.

Since Lisa opened her own on line crafting store this week... I decided to use this adorable little image that is made exclusively for Lisa's Store, The Craft's Meow. This is little Frieda and the set is called Little Frieda's Flowers. Isn't she adorable? Since my granddaughter is about to have a birthday, I made this in lavenders and greens for her. Unfortunately lavenders do NOT photograph well! All these lavenders really match beautifully in real life! I paper pieced Frieda's top and her shoes with a Papertrey dp scrap and then shaded it a bit with a Copic marker. I decided that since Frieda is out picking flowers, she should wear leggings so I colored her that way. (She could just as easily be colored with a dress and socks). My papers are a variety of things from my stash. The base is Bazzill. The background green is Martha Stewart. The lavender oval is Heidi Grace, and the front two layers are Kaisercraft Lilac Ave. I used a Craft Two embossing folder for the pretty butterflies. The flowers and buttons are from my stash, and the ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I added Stickles to her flowers, though you can't see the sparkle in this light. The sketch I used is from Cute Card Thursday.

Grace, beautiful card! I love the embossing folder, it's perfect with this cute li'l SPring-time image! =) And yes, I have felt that peace too in the midst of a tornado actually, going right over our college and we were confined to a little room in the basement. Girls all around me were freaking out, and I (the worry-wort normally) felt this amazing sense of peace. Have a blessed week!

Grace, this card is so delightful! I love the lavender color, and yes, I can see the sparkle of the stickles in her flowers in her hair and bouquet! I love all of the flowers on this card, and the images is as precious as can be!

Everything you said is True. I know that right now, I am reminding myself to trust in Him. I keep repeating "I am trusting in You for ____" and fill in the blank. And, I am trying to remind myself...and glorify Him by remembering every time He was victorious...which is EVERY time! It is amazing...His peace. I'm learning, too. Thank you for sharing!

She will love this card, I am sure of it!

He IS Able,
Traci S.

What lovely colors Grace! I am sure this card is going to be so very well received. And your thoughts are always so valuable to read. I think I fear most now not for myself but for my children and have to continually hand those fears over to the Lord. This verse is a good one for me as well! And one that I need to practice more faithfully!

Grace, I'm so blessed to have 'found' you in this vast world of blogging! Your coloring and etc. on this card is fabulous! But more important to me, is the way God has used you to be a comfort and encouragement to my heart. I didn't catch this challenge the week it was posted......because I didn't need it then! I needed this verse, and the 'sisterhood' of those who believe and are comforted by it, today. And today I found it. Thank You!
