Hello friends! I have a quick sneak peek to share with you! Tomorrow Our Daily Bread designs will be releasing four new sets, and this is just to give you a little taste of what's to come!
I used Happy Retirement,
stamping the image with Memento Ink and coloring with Copics. The
sentiments are stamped with Versafine Ink. The DP is K&Co Sea
Glass die cut mat, and the base is Martha Stewart. I created an easel
card using Spellbinders Labels 8.
I shaded the edges of each layer with a black marker, then THoltz
Distress Ink in Black Soot. The netting is a recycled apple bag. To
bring out the hammock I went over the brown stamped lines with a black
Micron pen to pop it a bit. I added a few little shells as finishing
Hope you like my project...and don't miss the blog hop tomorrow for plenty of chances to win just for hopping along!!! See you then!

Hello my friends! Today I have something that I made purely for fun. The challenge over at Cheery Lynn Challenge Blog is Birthdays! I have had some Lili of the Valley stamps ( this one is called coffee break) that I ordered some time ago now, and have not had time to play with yet... today was the day. I used the sketch from Card Positioning Systems 261, and my papers are a yellow base by Martha Stewart, and dp by MME, Miss Caroline Howdy Doody. LOVE this new paper!!! I used the Cheery Lynn Polynesian Sails dieto frame my image, and stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from Hero Arts and cut with a Spellbinders Tags 5 die. The image is colored with Copics and some simple bakers twine finished it off..... nice and simple, but I had so much fun coloring this. It's a change for me. I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for stopping by, and your comments give me such joy!
Hello my friends! I hope you are having a wonderful week!!!
Today I wanted to share something I made for my granddaughter's birthday coming up next week! (She doesn't go on the computer or I'd be worried about her seeing this! LOL). Anyway.... for Christmas she got one of the American Girl doll's doggies, and that makes 2 doggies for her now and she really wanted a bed for them. So.... since I made her curtains for her room, I bought extra fabric to make sheets and pillows for her AG doll bed, and this little doggie bed. The doggie bed at AG costs $22.00! You're kidding!!! LOL! Anyway.... this month's set, Paw Prints from Our Daily Bread designs provided the perfect little paw print stamp for the inside fabric. I stamped it with Stazon Ink directly on some fabric. When stamping on fabric, you want to let the stamp rest on the fabric for a moment longer than on you do on paper, to be sure it has absorbed all the ink.
I used a 7" square for the bottom, and 4 x 7" pieces for the sides. I formed a paper pattern for the cut out in the front, and cut the fabric accordingly. I cut the same pieces from my outside fabric and some batting. I sewed right sides together and then inserted the lining into the bed and sewed along the top edge. Then I added the seam binding to the edges. I then made the pillow for the bottom using a piece of cardboard for the base, added a couple layers of batting, then the paw print fabric, adhering to the back of the cardboard. I covered the back with more fabric and viola... a doggie bed. Very simple once I figured out my sizes.
I added the little banner (Spellbinders Ribbon Banners) which I stamped with the sentiment from Paw Prints with Regal Rose and sponged with T Holtz Worn Lipstic Distress Ink. I wish I had my granddaughter's puppies to show in this bed, but anyway... you get the idea. It's fun to take stamping to a different level sometimes.... and this month's sets were just too perfect not to use on this project! Hope you were inspired in some small way to get stamping and maybe even sewing!
Hello friends! Wow where did this week go? LOL! Today I wanted to pop in and share a really quick card I made with this month's release from Our Daily Bread designs,Dog Sympathy. My base is Baja Breeze, and the dp is my old but loved Max and Whiskers by BasicGrey. The ribbon is May Arts Faux Suede. I cut the sentiment panel with Classic Spellbinders Ovals Large, and matted with SB Floral Ovals. This was super quick but when you need a pet sympathy card.... it needs to be quick, right? :) The sketch is this week's Card Patterns 160.

The base us The Paper Co Metallic, the gray is Papertrey Smokey Shadow, and the designer paper is BoBunny Country Garden Collection. I created a pocket for my tag, and made the sketch to fit this week's Card Positioning Systems Challenge, and I added some Cheery Lynn dies (Fanciful Flourish and Exotic ButterflyMini), which also qualifies it for the Think Spring Challenge going on over on their blog this week. I added May Arts wrinkled ribbon and a Prima flower, and some little ZVA Creative roses to finish. If you are wondering about the shadow effect of the flourishes, I simply cut one green and one gray, and then stacked them just offset a bit to created that shadow look. The image is colored with Copics.
Now I will send you on your way..... Sabrina is next on the hop!
I am a child of the King, a wife of 42 years, a mother, and a grandmother. I love almost all types of crafts from quilting to papercrafting. Card making has become my favorite passtime... I love it because it is not self focused... it is other focused. I enjoy making something that I know will bring comfort, encouragement, and maybe some joy to others.
