Hope your day is as sweet as a peach!

Hello friends!  I have a quick card that I made for several of the Dirty Dozen Challenges over on SCS.  This is another sneak peek at a set to be released Aug 1 at Our Daily Bread designs.... "Peaches".  I love the sentiments in this set and while I need a bit of practice to find true peach colors... I am having fun playing with it.  There is so much in this set that I know I will use it often.

I used Memento ink, colored with copics, cut out with SB Labels 22 and decorative labels 22, and hand cut the curvy line at the bottom...(why didn't I buy that die???). I stamped the sentiment in the lower right corner and outlined the lower edge with bling from Love to Scrap. To do this, I used sections of a bling frame cut up to fit the curves. Didn't come out quite as I pictured, but I tried. lol  The designer paper is MME Fine & Dandy.... which I think it so fun and summery.  The embossing folder is Sizzix.

I am entering this in a few fun challenges:
The Crazy Challenge - Summertime, The Paper Nest Dolls Challenge -  Die Cuts,  613 Avenue Create -  Anything Goes (optional: Twist: Friendship Day,  Hobbycutz  Summer, MilkCoffee Challenge Emboss itPaper Crafting Journey  Punch and/or Die cuts

Thanks so much for stopping by!  See you Thursday for the release!

I Relish Our Friendship!

ODBD stampes: Blue Ribbon Winner, Garden Mini, Pickles and Strawberries, designed by Grace Nywening
Hello friends!  Did you think I fell off the face of the earth?  LOL!  I'm sorry I have not posted to my blog in a while... but I HAVE been busy working on things behind the scenes that I will be able to show you some time!  Today however, I was happy to get the chance to play in the TLC440 challenge over on SCS!  We were reminded by Judy that while all the new stuff being released at CHA is always enticing... the old is also good... and we were to go back through the first 50 TLC challenges and pick one for our card today.  I picked TLC28, which was the Masking Technique.  Masking is when you stamp an image on either sticky paper or post it notes, cut it out and then use it as a mask to stamp multiple images and give them dimension when in a group.  So for my masking technique, I stamped my small pickle once on card stock, placed the mask over it and stamped again... repeating this until my jar looked full of pickles.  When you do this... there will be one image that stands out as being in the front, and all the others will look like they are behind that one.  It's a GREAT technique to know... and while it's been around a long time... if you have not tried it I urge you to give it a try!  You can find a great tutorial for it HERE.

My card today is giving a SNEAK PEEK at several new products being released by Our Daily Bread designs AUG. 1!  This is a fun release... with  a neat blend of faith and fun products!  For this card, I used Blue Ribbon Winner, Garden Mini, Pickles and Strawberries for my stamps, and the ODBD Custom Jar Die, as well as an AWESOME new die set called Fancy Foliage... custom made for ODBD by Spellbinders.  I also used the tag die from a previous release, ODBD Recipe  and Tags Die.

I stamped the jar from Blue Ribbon Winner.  Then I stamped the small cucumber image from the Garden Mini set once in the jar, stamped it on sticky paper, cut that out and laid it on top of my first image.  I repeated that several times until I had filled my jar with pickles.  I then colored them with Copics.  I also cut 2 larger cuke images from the Strawberries and Pickles set and cut them out.  To layer up my card I started with a base of craft, then ran a vanilla layer through a Sizzix leaf folder which I had inked with Distress Ink direct pad to flat side of folder.  The horizontal layer is a basket weave folder done the same way.  I mounted my pickle jar, which  I cut with the new Jar Die set to be released Aug 1 as well.  The foliage is from the now Fancy Foliage die set, which I just LOVE... and the tag is from the Recipe and Tags die set.

Now don't go thinking this coming release is all about pickles.... because there's much more!!!  Don't miss the release Aug 1!  See you then!

I am entering this in the following challenges:
365 Cards - a daily challenge - 2 different colors/tones, The Crazy Challenge - Summertime, The Paper Nest Dolls Challenge -  Die Cuts, Use Your Stuff -  Twine, 613 Avenue Create -  Anything Goes (optional: Twist: Friendship Day, Catered Crop Summertime, Hobbycutz  Summer

Happy 25th Anniversary!!!

ODBD stamps, Anniversary Blessings, All Occasion Sentiments, Quatrefoil Pattern die, designed by Grace Nywening

Hello friends!

Today I have a card to share that I made as a sample for this week's Inspiration Challenge 398 on SCS !  I was honored when Stephanie asked me and the site we were to get our inspiration from is called Persona Jewelry.  The site is chuck full of beautiful beads!  At first I thought it might be hard to be inspired by beads, but I had no problems at all when I started looking!  HERE is the first bead that inspired me and HERE is another.  With so much silver, what's a girl to do?  I decided to start with a white base, mat with brushed silver, and then overlay my Quatrefoil Pattern die cut, which I cut from silver Mirror Paper.  It really shines and in the photos almost grabs the light so much that you can't see that my image and sentiment are actually heat embossed with silver as well.  They just look gray, but you'll have to take my word for it.  :)

Anyway... I stamped my cake image and the number 25 from Anniversary Blessings with Versamark and heat embossed with silver (Ranger Fine Detail powder).  I hand cut it out and mounted it with dimensionals on to two layers of white Spellbinder's  Oppulent Ovals. The inside panel is embossed with a Sizzix folder.  The sentiment is from All Occasion Sentiments and is also heat embossed, then cut with the inner part of Spellbinders Fancy Tags 1.  I had cut the brushed silver frame for it as I did not want as large a frame as the Fancy Tag was.  I then looked at the bead and tried to bring out the pink floral and green leaf.  My roses are ZVA Creative and the top one is smaller because I simply removed 2 layers of petals from it.  The leaves are made with a Martha Stewart punch and scraps of green paper.  I pulled out some things from my stash that I have not used in ages.... Dew Drops!  I found these Robin's Nest dew drops and adhered them with jewelry glue.  I added a few other clear gems and called it done.  It's certainly glitzed up, but then, isn't a 25th Anniversary a good occasion for a little extra glitz?  :)

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

Get Well Soon!

Hello friends!

Today I have a real CAS card I created for a couple challenges on SCS.  One was a CAS one layer card on which you used masking, and one was to ink your stamps with tissues!  I had never done that before so I gave it a try and I really love the result! I used T Holtz Distress Inks in Bundled Sage, Forest Moss and Dusty Concord, and used crumpled up tissues to apply the inks to my North Coast Creations stamps, going from light to dark.  I first stamped the image from Find Beauty, then I created a mask for the right side of it and stamped the image from Something Marvelous.  The sentiment is from Heaven's Masterpiece and is one we all can use often.  I did mat my one layer on a base, so I hope that still counts as a single layer.  For me... this is VERY CAS!  The only embellishment is a sheer ribbon.  I am definitely going to try this technique again!  It works great on solid stamps, silhouette stamps, or any that have enough rubber to pick up the extra texture of the crumpled tissue.

I hope you'll give it a try!

Thanks so much for having a look!

Blessings & Hugs,

I do love the shabby chic look and yet I have trouble achieveing it on my cards.  It's always a challenge to not get stuck in a "rut" with your style.

Mr & Mrs simple but elegant wedding card, and pics of family fun!

Hello friends!  I've been enjoying time with family here at my home... but I did have a card prepared to share with you, using the July release from Our Daily Bread designs

This is a very simple layout, as I stamped my image from the To the Love Birds set  right on the designer paper, making use of the pretty flocked branches on the designer paper.  One hint: These stamps have dots to help you line up your dies when cutting them out, but since I did not cut this one out, I should have carefully not inked the dot, but I forgot and did not want to waste this pretty paper, so a dot is visible.   No big deal to me... but if you just don't ink it when you are stamping on dp instead of cutting out, then you won't have to worry about that!  :)

The sentiment is from Wedding Blessings, and is stamped on cream card, then a border is stamped from Antique Labels and Designs, and it is cut out with the ODBD Custom Antique Labels and Border Die which fits it perfectly!  I just added some tiny birds which I cut out with the new Custom Birdcage and Banners die and popped them up on the branches, and the Spellbinders border and flourishes to complete the card.  Tiny pearls give it a bit of elegance.

Card Details:
Stamps: ODBD To the Love Birds, Wedding Blessings
Dies: ODBD Custom Birdcage and Banner Dies (tiny birds in branch), ODBD Custom Antique Labels and Designs, Spellbinders Gold Elements One, Spellbinders Antique Frames and Accents
Papers: Cream base, Black matting, DCWV La Creme Stack
Ink: VersaFine (bird cage and sentiment) VersaMark for birds in branches
Accessories: Heat embossing tool, black ep, May Arts Silk Ribbon, Recollections Pearls

Then, I thought I'd share a few pics of what I've been up to  if you want to see...I know it's photo long, but I also know my family will enjoy seeing these, so bear with me...

This is my only living sister Lois, who traveled 3000 miles to spend time with us... and the little guy at our feet is my first great nephew Asher, also from CA.  We are at our subdivision beach  and Asher is having his first experience with beach sand and water.  He was afraid at first, but soon he was loving it!

This is my daugher Christy, my niece Shari, and Asher on the boat.... another first for Asher, and he just loved it!

A little wake boarding fun...

Here is my grandson Nathan holding Asher, with my daughter looking on.  Nathan, 15 is just great with kids!

Here is my sister and my granddaughter Lauren, enjoying a swing on the back porch

Here is sweetness himself!  What a joy to spend time with this happy little guy!

Waiting for the fireworks to begin.... they are usually gorgeous and surround the lake with color

We did get to see a few before it started to pour and all 12 of us huddled under the Bimini cover and headed for shore.   We laughed so hard that it will be a favorite memory for sure!

Sadly... all good things have to come to an end...

Getting ready to take the CA.part of the group back to the airport and trying not to cry!

Love my family and so thankful for the gift God's given us in each one, and wishing the rest could have been here too!  Love you guys!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I love knowing you were here!!!

ODBD July Release is full of Love!

Hello sweet friends! Welcome to the July Our Daily Bread designs Release, which is all about LOVE! And LOVE is just how I feel about this month's release.... it's AWESOME!!!! You can see the full release HERE.

This month, for the first time in over 4 years, I am taking a break from writing any posts for the ODBD blog, as my house is chuck full of out of state family and I am enjoying some special family time! So this is NOT a blog hop, but all my DT sisters have created 2 samples for this release and there will be a $50.00 prize chosen from the comments left on a secret DT member's blog.... so be sure to visit each link below and leave a little love!  For full details on the release and other DT news, please visit the ODBD Blog!

So now.... on to my samples: I created this card using the fabulous To the Love Birds set, Banner Sentiments,  as well as the Bird Cage & Banners Die set. LOVE!!!

Our Daily Bread designs stamps, For the Love Birds, Bird Cage and Banner Dies, designed by Grace Nywening

I used a vanilla base and a soft pink mat to back my Spellbinders A2Card Creation Filigree Delight die, and then I cut the cherry branch with the Spellbinders Cherry Blossoms die set, sponged a bit and adhered to my background.  I heat embossed my bird cage, banner, and sentiment with a medieval metals embossing powder and cut with the ODBD Custom Birdcage and Banner dies.  Yum!!!  I also cut 2 of the filigree backgrounds so I could pop up one layer using tee-niny dimensionals.  I love the depth that created even though it is a bit fussy to do.  A few pink pearls and some Martha Stewart punched and sponged butterflies are my only embellishments.

For my next sample I used Anniversary Blessings.

Again I used the vanilla and soft pink comb, but cut my card shape using Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles.  I hinged the top by leaving just a little of the folded cardstock out of the die.  I added another die to the inside which you can see below.

I heat embossed the beautifully elegant cake image, love bird topping, and sentiment and added a May Arts silk bow and Recollections Pearls.  The sentiment is cut with Spellbinders Framed Tags 3.  I am so in love with this cake image.... it could be used not only for wedding and anniversary cards, but engagements, showers, and birthdays just to name a few!

Here are the sets I have used today:

Well, that's my samples for today!  Please be sure to visit my DT sisters and don't forget to leave a comment so you don't  miss a chance to win!!!
