MMSC21 and a color challenge

Hello everyone! Today I made a card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 21 and also for the Color Challenge on SCS: to use Sage Shadow, Pretty in Pink, Going Gray. I started off with this Madeline Designer Paper from K&Co, matted that with Pretty in Pink and Sage Shadow according to the sketch. For the matting of the image I added a going gray mat.

The image is from Sarah Kay and I stamped it with Archival Jet Black onto Watercolor paper and water colored with SU! Markers except for the gray areas, which I had to do with Prisma Pencils as I do not have gray markers.

I had fun with this relatively easy sketch! Used a Martha Stewart punch for the boughs and the bow easy for the bow which is SU! Pretty in Pink. A little bling and some stickles on her hair bow and done.

Two Blog Awards from Francie G

Hello everyone! I have been late posting these awards from Francie G, who kindly gave them both to me a little while back. I'm finally getting around to posting them!

My instructions were to list 5 things that I love to do... well... I have listed five favs before so lets see if I can think of 5 more things I love to do!

1. I love to just go for rides through the country, especially during the fall with my hubby, and find new fun places to stop for coffee, to take photos, antique shops or just beautiful scenery!

2. I LOVE iced coffee!!! I love coffee period!!! Hot, cold, luke warm... just throw some ice in it and go! I especially love Americanas!

3. I love snowmen and chickadees! I have a soft spot in my heart for all things snowman... and for years I have collected Chickadees. They are the Maine state bird and I have always enjoyed seeing them at the feeders, as well as all the other birds that flock with them!

4. I love good christian music! I love the old hymns... I love the more contemporary music as long as it's not too loud... I love all the God honoring music that is available to us today!

5. I love cats! While I love dogs too... my hubby and I are agreed... we are CAT people! Our Ricky gives us so much joy! I sware he's part dog anyway... but he doesn't need to be walked! He sticks closer to me than any pet I've ever had, including all the dogs! He fetches better than our Lab. retriever! He can open doors anywhere in my house and he loves to snuggle! His only problem is not realizing he is bigger than the space i have left in my lap when also holding a lap top! LOL! He just works his way in... all 16 1/2 lbs of him! But we love him!

Praying for You... Stamping Sisters in Christ

Happy Sunday everyone!

I made this card for today's Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS and for the Stamping Sisters in Christ Challenge... to make a Thinking of You or Praying for You card. I chose a gorgeous all white card by Nancy to case. You can't improve on perfection, and hers was there... so making three changes was difficult, but here is what I did:

I stamped my sentiment in Archival Sepia Ink onto Very Vanilla CS. The sentiment is from the soon to be released Our Daily Bread Designs set "Praying for You". I then stamped the dragonfly from a coordinating set, With Heartfelt Sympathy... and I stamped off once, then lightly stamped it onto my main panel. Then I cut all my pieces for the sketch and ran then through the CB with my new CB embossing/ die combo "Ornamental Iron". Love it!!! Then I sponged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dyed, to give an antiqued look. I sprayed everything with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Bronze. Love Glimmer Mist!!! I had more trouble getting a good photo of this... the sun is only peeking out now and then today and I tried to catch the moment but I still don't think you can really see the sparkle.

An Oct. Our Daily Bread Designs Sneak Peek

So... what are the hardest cards we gals have to make???? Most of us would answer the same thing... Sympathy and Masculine! Well.... not any more girls!!! Our Daily Bread designs is going to be releasing three new sets on Oct. 1 that will make either of those card types much easier to make!

Today I'm showing you a sample of a set called "With Heartfelt Sympathy". I love the versatility of these sets! The sentiment I chose could be for a sympathy card, but also for anyone who is going through a rough patch. The set has these wonderful Cat Tails and the Dragonfly you see, and those images could be perfect for a fall card, a guy card, or a sympathy card... or just a nature card for anyone!!!

I used the MMSC20 for my layout. These Midnight Madness Sketches are among my favorites to do each week! They are just a step up from the norm, and I love them! The panel on the left is an embossing/stenciling template I had by Dreamweaver.. I ran it through my Big Shot for the texture, then sponged it with Colorbox Chalk Ink in Creamy Brown and Olive Pastel.

I stamped my Cat Tails in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored the images plus some background with Prismapencils, blending with OFMS and blending stumps. After that I heavily sponged with T Holtz Distress Inks.

My card base is Very Vanilla, topped with a deep chocolate cs from my stash, then a textured olive cs also unknown. The DP is from The First Blush pack by Prima. I used my Spell Binders Label 4 to cut out the sentiment and sponged that panel as well. I ran my Chocolate Chip marker along the edges of all my panels before mounting them. I used my slot punch to punch the holes for the ribbon, and the ribbon is from Papertrey. The fibers are from The Paper Studio, and the antique brass embellishments were from Hobby Lobby. The left hand panel is popped up on dimensionals.

Little Precious ~ a sketch, and color challenges

I made this card for three challenges. It was for the sketch challenge on SCS today, and also the Stampin Sisters in Christ color challenge (to use the colors of fall) and the OCCC challenge, to use Chocolate, Pink, Hot Pink and White. I think I got them all! I love these new BasicGrey papers in the Indian Summer set! The fall colors are so warm and rich! So I chose three different patterns from that pack that met the qualifications and arranged the sketch. My image is a new one for me... my first Sarah Kay. I had to have it when I saw it. It so reminds me of my grand daughter... blond, cute and in love with her kitty! Anyway... I inked her with Archival Jet black and stamped on 140 LB Watercolor Paper. I used the wet on wet technique to color her with SU! Markers. I then cut her out and popped her up, cutting a second bow for her hair and spraying that with Tattered Rose Glimmer Mist before popping it up slightly. I added some pink ribbon by MS. The base is Papertrey Dark Chocolate and the Pink is SU! run through with the Cuttlebug embossing folder, swiss dot.
