Christmas Greetings

Hello my friends!  I hope you are all doing well!  It has been a busy week here, as my hubby had cataract surgery yesterday, and today we were back down to the city for the follow up exams, etc.  All went very well and he is very happy to be seeing so well!  Now he's already wanting to get the other eye done as it's made him realize how even what was his "good" eye now is his "bad" eye.  LOL!  Isn't it amazing what can be done these days!!!  The procedure has been improved so much over what it used to be and we are so thankful!!!

Anyhoo... I wanted to share another card I made with this month's fantastic sets from Our Daily Bread designs.  I used Cardinal Ornament for my image, and Christmas Flourished Verses for the sentiment.  The image is cut with Spellbinders Classic Circle Large, and is framed with Spellbinders Ornate Artisan Tags & Accents.  The sentiment is cut with Spellbinders Fancy Framed Tags Two.  Istamped with Memento Ink,  colored the image with Copics, and sponged the sentiment panel with Brilliance Silver Ink.  The ribbon is May Arts (from my stash) and the bling is from my stash.  I really am enjoying playing with these sets!!!

Water Globe Gift Idea for Christmas!

 

Hello my friends! 

Today I have something different to share with you!  This is a very simple little water globe I made using this month's release from Our Daily Bread designs, Turtle Dove Ornament.   I bought this water globe kit from Hobby Lobby.  It has the name of Nicole on the sticker.  Anyway... it's so simple to make a fun gift with it, and very inexpensive too!  There is water on the front and back of a center space designed for a photo, and you can put whatever picture or stamped image in that center area you wish, or in my case, you could put 2 images, so that from both sides there is something pretty to see.  So I stamped my image with Memento and colored with Copics.  The circle outline on the stamp is the absolute perfect fit for the globe, so for the top of this insert, I simply cut out the image on that line.  On the bottom, I cut straight down to the bottom, and then worked it in to the center panel.  There is a template in the kit that you can place over any image and use to cut if you want.  It couldn't be easier!  Just shake it up and enjoy!

Now... here is my card....

  

I used the Christmas Door set, stamping with Archival Ink on Watercolor paper, and water coloring with Tim Holtz Markers.  I stamped my sentiment from the same set, cut with a Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio die, then I stamped the greenery from the door stamp along the top and lower edge of the panel.  I then applied Flower Soft in Vintage Christmas to both the image and the sentiment panel.  The base is Bazzill, the dp is K&Co Christmas Cheer, and the dies used for the sentiment border are 2 of the Spellbinders Holly Accents.  The embossing folder is Cuttlebug Holly Stripes, and the die cuts in the top corners are  Provocraft.  The ribbon is from my stash, and the red pearls are from AC Moore.  I added Glossy Accents to my popped up bow on the wreath.  I also added touches of glitter, which I hope you can see in the close up below.

A card and a call to pray!

Hello friends! I hope you enjoyed your weekend and that your week is off to a wonderful start!  If you are in the US, I hope you have been praying for this vote tomorrow, and that above all, you will get out and vote!  If you are not in the US, I hope you will join us in prayer for the outcome of this vote as well... as I don't think ever before there has been a race so close, and with sooooo much at stake!  We know that God puts men and women in positions of leadership, and He takes them down, according to His unfathonable will.  We may differ on our viewpoint of who would be best for America, but ultimately, we need to be praying for whoever He allows to hold this office and for all our leaders that they will turn back to God and seek His face in all decisions they make!  I received an email this morning that listed Scriptures to use as the basis for our prayers, and I decided to share it with you here.  I hope you'll indulge me as I feel compelled to add this to my post today:

It is critical that Christians pray for the coming presidential election. The power of prayer can overcome any obstacle or ungodly influence and, indeed, do great things!

II Chronicles 7:14 - If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, will heal their land.

Acts 17:30 - Pray for repentance for yourself and for our nation.

Proverbs 16:13 - Pray that our nation will listen to the truth and not be led astray.

Psalm 125 - Pray that those who trust in the Lord will not be shaken.

Psalm 86:14-17 - Pray that the Lord would defeat those who have no regard for Him in this election.

II Kings 13:16 - Pray that the Lord would put His hands on the man of His choice for president (and his team) and guide them.

Daniel 2:20-22 - the Bible tells us that God sets up kings and God deposes kings. God is in control.

Luke 12:54-57 - Pray that God's man and our nation will be discerning and do what is right.

Psalm 16:7-8 - Pray that the Lord would give wise counsel and guidance to His choice for president in this campaign.

Proverbs 1:5-6 - Pray that God's man will listen with discernment, add to his knowledge, and receive wise counsel in this campaign. 

John 16:33 - Pray that the man of God's choice would be given wisdom and ability from the Lord to overcome any obstacle or difficulty during this campaign.

Philippians 4:13 - Pray that the Lord's choice for President will have special strength and unusual ability from God.

Psalm 18:32-36 - Pray that the Lord would arm the man of His choice with strength; would guide him in battle (this election); and would sustain him and give him victory.
 

Hebrews 11:32-34 - Pray that God's man could, through faith, persevere and maintain his courage throughout this election.

2 Corinthians 12:9 - Pray that the Lord would empower and enable his man in any area of weakness.

Habakkuk 1:5 and 3:2 - Pray that the Lord would do something that would utterly amaze us and give His servant victory. 

Thank you for praying!  May God be merciful to sinful America and forgive our land for all the ways we have turned our back on Him!  

Now for my card today....

I created this card with this month's release from Our Daily Bread designs, The Babe.  It's really a precious image, and although I feel very uncomfortable and unworthy to color any image of my Lord and Savior, I did attempt this one.  The image is stamped with Memento and colored with Copics, then highlighted with Spica glitter pen.   The embossing folder is Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes folder, and the Spellbinders used are: Labels 8, Grommet Tags, Petite Ovals Large.  The peeling paint wood dp is a scrap from my scrap box and I don't know the name.  The twine is from the jewelry dept. of Hobby Lobby.

For my card today... I used Chickadee Ornament to create my shaker card.  I used a Cuttlebug Embossing folder that had the greenery and a cardinal on it (from the Winter Wonderland Pack), but I positioned it so the cardinal did not show because it was where my cut out is, and I ran it through the machine twice to get more greenery.  I stamped the fun image with Memento ink and colored with Copics.  The red ribbon is May Arts Wrinkled ribbon and the bling is from Hobby Lobby.   Inside the shaker I used chunky sugar crystals.... just enough to give it life and movement, but not so much that it covered my stamp, and I added some Stickles to the pine clusters.

I hope you are inspired by the simplicity of this design!  If you did not see my sneak peek earlier  I'll just show you that again, which was made using the Turtle Doves Ornament Set and again is super quick and easy to create.

A little sneakie peekie

 

 Hello my friends!  I hope you enjoyed a wonderful weekend, and if you are in the NE USA, my prayers are with you as this monster storm approaches!

With this sudden and extreme cold front/ hurricane force winds on the east coast, forecast of snow even here... I have to admit that it has put me in a bit of a holiday spirit!  Add to that the Nov 1 release from Our Daily Bread designs, and I think you can see why!  Today I'm giving you a sneak peek at one of the soon to be released  sets... Turtle Dove Ornament, as well as a sentiment from another set, Cardinal Ornament.

I am on a mission to create clean and quick cards for Christmas so that I actually have a hope of getting them done!  With that in mind... if you like CAS, I have several coming your way that might fit the bill!  For this card I simply used white card stock and some embossing powder from Sweet Stamps.  The embossing powder is  a bit older and does not have a color name on it, but it is what I would call "platinum".  It's a cross between gold and silver... sort of a flatter gold or "tan" gold, which I love with this flatter Prism Metallic Gold paper that I used to mat.  I also used a Holly Embossing Folder from Cuttlebug.  The ribbon is May Arts silk and the pearls are from AC Moore.  I used an inside oval from  Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two for the sentiment. I cut the ornament with a Spellbinders Classic Circle Large, which fits it perfectly!  WooHoo!!!  Sooo easy, so quick, yet elegant and festive I think.

Now...here is my card...

I used We Three Kings.  I stamped with SU! Not Quite Navy ink on SU! cardstock, and matted with River Rock and Not Quite Navy for the base.  I  colored the images with Prisma Pencils (camels and kings) and  then lightly used my pastel chalks to create the background.  I added some gems from a bling snowflake that I cut apart for the star.  I think this is the most CAS card I've done in a long time! LOL!  It's totally flat and mailable!  At Christmas, that's what I'm looking for! LOL!

I'm so thankful for the birth of the Christ child!  That single event changed the world forever, and gave all who would simply place their faith in Him a hope and a future!
