A Sneak Peek at some Preciousness!!!

Hello friends! I hope you had an absolutely wonderful Christmas!  We had a great time with our family.  In spite of several being sick,  it was a blessed time together with the ones we love!  My daughter and I cooked up a storm and baked so much food you'd think we were feeding an army!  I think I have gained a ton of weight, and I don't even want to get on the scale yet for fear of what I'll find! LOL!

Anyway... we are now back home and today I got to play with new stamps!  This card is a sneak peek at one of a BUNCH of awesome sets being released by Our Daily Bread designs on Jan. 1!  The sweet image is from a set called "Little Girls", and the tag uses one of the "Faith Words" and the Antique Label Designs" as well as the custom die made for ODBD by Spellbinders.  I wanted to play along in today's Free4All on SCS, which was "Emboss Resist", so I decided this image would be perfect heat embossed in black.  I then sponged Distress Ink in Spun Sugar all over the panel.  I then heat embossed one of the sentiments (What little Girls are made of) in pearl embossing powder for my background layer, and sponged the edges.  The first three dies are Spellbinders Marvelous Squares, and the bottom die is Cheery Lynn Dutch Scallop Square.  Everything is on white card stock and all color is from sponging.  The finished size is 4 3/4" square.  I finished off with a pretty May Arts silk bow and some pearls.  I hope I've wetted your appetite because seriously, this release is over the top!

I am entering this in the following challenges:

There is so much variety coming... and you will love it all!  Don't miss the hop on Jan 1 and maybe you'll win some!!!

Hope to see you then!

ODBD stamps, Scripture Collection 4, Grace Nywening

I used Scripture Collection 4 and specifically the Scripture I submitted for the set.  It seems  I need this constant reminder so it has become one of my favorite verses.

The designer paper is Prima Nature Garden, as are the flowers.  The dies are Spellbinders Marvelous Squares and Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish, and I used an MS Bough punch for the greenery, all cut from the same designer paper.  The ribbon is May Arts Silk.  I sponged the edges of my white panels with Tattered Rose distress ink.  Here is the set I used:

Snowflakes Everywhere.. but not here!

Hello my friends!  I hope your week has been wonderful and that you are ready to enjoy this mid-December weekend!   I have a card to share with you, which would make a great winter card, Christmas or other... and it includes a removable bookmark that slips over the front and back side of a page.  I used this month's release from Our Daily Bread designs, Snowflake Background, Sparkling Snowflakes, and Bookmarks- Snowflakes. I also used the custom dies made by Spellbinders for ODBD, Bookmark Dies, and Snowflake Dies.   I stamped with Stampabilties Pigment Ink in Royal Blue, and then clear embossed.  I used the small bookmark from the set as my horizontal panel which holds the bookmark in place.  I added a sheer ribbon and gemstones from Paper Studio.

I also had fun playing with the Sparkling Snowflake Set and some acrylic snowflakes I bought at Hobby Lobby for only a couple dollars.  I stamped these with white Stazon and sponged around the edges, and added bling.  Unfortunately my ink is very old and was hard to work with, but I still had fun, and I share for the concept, in case you still are looking for last minute gift ideas.

So I hope you in some way found inspiration from these projects today... and that you will enjoy a wonderful weekend.  As I write this, I'm listening to the horrific story that is unfolding in Connecticut right now... not far from where I used to live.  A shooter entered an elementary school, shot and killed his mother, a kindergarten teacher there, as well as 20 children and 6 other adults.  What a devastating loss!  It's hard to even think about preparing for Christmas when so many are suffering right now... not only here, but all over the world!  However, we need to remember that humanity is flawed.  We are NOT innately good... we are sinful in nature, and in need of a Savior.  It is for that exact reason that God sent His one and only Son into the world.  It was His perfect plan that His Son would be born of a virgin, live a sinless life, and be crucified on a cruel cross for the sins of the world.  He would not stay in the grave however, and three days later, He arose, victorious over death and sin!   His salvation is offered to ANY who will but believe and receive Him as their Savior!  It's a FREE gift... and the thought that comes to mind as I mourn for these poor families who are suffering from the loss of loved ones today is it is SIN, that caused this... and the answer is standing with outstretched arms, inviting all who will, to come to Him.

It's no coincidence that  our government has been pushing God out of everything.   It seems to me that the more our country pushes God out of our schools, out of text books and history, removes His name from our money, removes monuments that have His name on them... the more of this sinful action will be seen, and the less of His protection we will have, because after all, we've told Him to get out! It seems that people are blinded to the truth... and will run to any other possible solution... but they don't want to run to THE ONE and only TRUE solution.  I pray that all will ponder these things as we celebrate Christmas, and take the time to truly thank the Lord for His indescribable gift.  And please pray for these grieving families.

I wish you and yours a most Blessed Christmas season!

By the way... if you need a last minute gift for a stamper, or if you need your hubby to see a great idea for a last minute gift... ODBD Gift Certificates would please any stamper!!!  Kelley is generously offering a special too!  For every $50.00 Gift Certificates purchased, you get a $10.00 GC free!!!  Check it out HERE!

Hello everyone!  Happy Weekend!!!
I have a card to share today that I made for a few challenges.

I used the Dec. release from Our Daily Bread designs: Sparkling Snowflakes and Snowflake Sentiments.  I stamped on vanilla card stock with Colorbox pigment ink and then clear embossed, and cut out my snowflake with the custom Snowflake Dies made for ODBD by Spellbinders.  I also matted with Spellbinders 2010 Snowflake Pendant and Venitian Motifs.  The embossing folder is a Darcies ef called Corner Scroll (ACMoore) and the pearl is Recollections.  The little snowflake lacey strip is K&Co paper tape.

Here are the sets I used:

I used the sketch from ODBD Shining the Light challenge.

Wise Men Seek Him Still

Hello friends!  I hope you have had a great week... but isn't it greater still when it's Friday?!! LOL!

Today I have a quick card to share that I made using Our Daily Bread designs Away in a Manger set, just released Dec. 1.

Love the image designed by Michelle Laycock... with it's slightly grungy effect, giving a feel of the humble circumstances of Christ's birth.  I did however want to also focus on His royalty as well... for He IS the KING of KINGS, so I matted with brushed gold.I embossed my background with a wood bark folder by Darcy (ACMoore).  I used Spellbinders Labels 21, 10 and Fancy Framed Tags 2, and Cross Collection for my die cuts,  and a tiny gem stone in the center of the star which I stamped and hand cut to add to the cross... depicting that the Light of the World who came to earth in such a miraculous way... was born to die... and that was for you and for me, that we might be forgiven of our sins, live in fellowship with Him, and because He rose from the dead, we also have the assurance of eternal life with Him in heaven, if we will  receive this precious gift given.  Trusting this JOY fills your Christmas season!

Poinsettia Wreath for Christmas!

Hello friends! I hope your weekend was wonderful and that you are enjoying this season of advent! I have a quick card to share with you today that I made for a challenge on SCS. I used this month's release at Our Daily Bread designs, Poinsettia Wreath. This wreath is one of my favorite ones! The poinsettias are so fun to color and in this case, I decided to layer them up a bit. I heat embossed the image with gold and then cut it out, and I stamped the floral part a couple more times so I could layer on a few extra petals for dimension. I water colored with Distress Markers since Copics and embossing don't get along that well together. I decided to go for a lighter color in order to let the embossing shine a bit more, and then I added some little gold Recollections pearls. I love that this set has the separate bow so you can easily place it where ever you want it. The background is stamped with an older stamp from ODBD, Poinsettia Background. I stamped it with Distress Marker - Barn Door. I also used a Sizzix and a Cuttlebug embossing folder, and a Spellbinders Floral Ovals. The card base is vanilla and the matting is a red mirrored paper.

I am entering this in the following challenges: Artistic Stampers - must use rubber stamp,  Home for Christmas, Cards Galore -  Christmas, Cupcake Craftroom - Anything for Christmas, Natalie and Amy's ChallengeChristmas or winter, OozakAnything goes plus red, Sparkles Forum Challenges -- Christmas is coming, Unique Crafters Challenge - Christmas (Freebie available), Addicted to Stamps Challenge - Christmas Time,  Amusing Challenges -  Die Cut,  Corrosive Challenges -  Anything Goes, Glitter n Sparkle - Flowers, My Sheri Crafts  -   Tis the Season, Stamp your Life Anything goes,  Card Makin' Mamas - cards only – Week 1, Silver and/or Gold, Fussy and Fancy -  I Love Christmas, Jingle Belles -  Christmas -  Anything (Holiday) Goes

December Release Blog Hop!!!

Hello my friends!  Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs December Release Blog Hop!  If you got here from Sabrina's Scrumptious Blog, you are in the right place!  If not, you  might want to start at the ODBD Blog so you don't miss anything!  Here are the details for this month's hop:

  • Hop to each Designer's Blog and leave a comment
  • Return to the ODBD Blog and tell us you completed the hop, and note any problems you had
  • There will be 3 prizes of $20.00 Gift Certificates and 1 GRAND PRIZE of $75.00 Gift Certificate toward stamps in the ODBD Store!!!
  • You have until 8pm EST Dec 2 to complete the hop, and winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on Dec. 3
Now, on to my project:

I used the Snowflake Mini and Snowflake Sentiments, as well as the Snowflake Background and the Small Snowflake Background to create this card.   I also used the ODBD Custom Tag die, which is perfect with the mini snowflake set! I stamped the background stamp onto white cardstock with VersaMark, and embossed with white embossing powder.  I stamped the sentiment and snowflakes on to blue cardstock with ColorBox Frost White Pigment Ink, and then embossed with white embossing powder, for a chunkier texture of white on blue.  The vertical strip on the left is the Small Snowflake Background stamped the same way, and the swirly die along the bottom of the tag is Spellbinders Fanciful Holiday Die.  The wide ribbon is May Arts and the narrow is from

Here is the inside:

Here are the sets I used today:

In case you missed my sneak peek and tutorial,   I'll show the  luminary ornament I made to go along with this card, making a nice little gift set.  This ornament is created with 4 of the ODBD Tag Die cuts, stamped with the Small Snowflake Background, cut with a spellbinders mega oval die, and then the vellum inserts are stamped with images from  the Sparkling Snowflake set using Ranger Perfect Medium and Stampendous Kaleidoscope embossing powder. A battery operated tea light is inside, and it hangs nicely on the tree, or could stand alone.

I hope you enjoyed my project!  Now I will send you on to your next stop.... Prepare to be blown away by
