J-O-Y! A Sneak Peek

Hello friends! I hope you are all well!

Today I'm sharing a sneak peek at some new products to release on Oct. 1 at Our Daily Bread Designs.  These products are available for pre-release now!

I used two new ornament sets: Delightful Decorations, and Elegant Embellishments, along with the matching dies: Delightful Decorations Dies, and Elegant Embellishments Dies.  I also used the new Flourished Alphabet stamp set to spell out J-O-Y.  I think I will use these stamps a lot in the future for many different things!  I also used some great new paper, the Christmas Paper Collection 2015.

Besides the new products,  I used some past releases for this card including the Doily Dies, and the Flourished Star Pattern Die.  I used a Sizzix Holly Swirl embossing folder and sponged it with Antique Linen Distress ink, and I used brushed gold paper for the flourished star pattern background, as well as the red layer.  The base is real red, as is the ink on the ornaments.

To create the ornaments, I stamped the letters from the Flourished Alphabet set on some of the design paper in the 2015 Christmas Paper Collection with versamark, and heat embossed with gold.  Then I positioned the ornament stamp around the embossed letter and stamped the Elegant Embellishment ornaments with Real Red.  For the center ornament, I embossed the letter in the same way, but I also embossed the pattern of the Delightful Decorations stamp, and then cut the center circle out to reveal the letter.  I "hung" all three with gold ribbon.
I do think you are going to love this release! I'm also glad to have a few more Christmas cards done this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Flowers of Gratitude!

ODBD Stamps: Grateful, designed by Grace Nywening

Hello friends!  I hope you are all doing well!

I am popping in today to share a card I made using the Sept. Mid Month Release.   I used the newly released  Grateful set for my sentiment, stamping it in Primrose Petals on some designer paper from a BasicGrey Something Blue pack.  I cut it with the ODBD Custom Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies, and then cut a piece of design paper from an MME Blush pack using the ODBD Custom Vintage Label dies to mat the sentiment panel.  I used a vanilla base and some Light Spring Green paper from Color Mates which I embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder and die cut the bottom edge with the new ODBD Custom Leafy Edged Border dies.  I used a vanilla piece to cut the lacey layer, and cut the green layer with the more straight lined die in the set.  Then I cut a whole bunch of the smallest flower in the Pretty Posies Dies from various scraps of pink card stock.  I also cut several of the tiny blossom in the Ornamental Crosses dies set, and sponged the edges with Primrose Petals, and spritzed them all with water.  I crumpled them up and molded them in to loose petals to form my posy blossoms.  I added a few leaves from the same die set, and a flourish from the Fancy Foliage Dies set.  I finished it off with a pearl butterfly from ZVA Creative.

Thanks so much for looking!  I hope you enjoyed my little hand made flowers today and are inspired to give them a try some time.

So Grateful for You!

ODBD products: Beauty, Fancy Foliage Die, Recipe Card and Tags die, Sunburst Background Die, designed by Grace Nywening

Hello friends! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying this beautiful time of year!

Today we are taking a look back at the Sept. Mid Month release at Our Daily Bread Designs.  I just can't get enough of this gorgeous image from the Beauty set, and with Thanksgiving just around the corner, this sentiment from Grateful seemed the perfect sentiment to go with it.

Feeling a little touch of fall in the air, and seeing some leaves starting to change color already,  I decided to deviate from the usual pinks of Stargazer Lilies and color up these lilies in more fall colors.

I colored the image from Beauty with Copics and hand cut.  I added a flourish from the ODBD Custom Fancy Foliage die set, and I cut my sentiment, which is from the  newly released Grateful set, with the small circle die in the Recipe Card and Tags die set, and matted with another die from that same set.  I embossed and cut my vanilla layer with the ODBD Sunburst Background Die, and the green polka dotted paper is from a pack called Loolah, by Creative Imaginations.  The flowers are popped up on dimensional tape.

Here are the Sept. mid month release products I used:

I chose this sentiment from the Grateful set because this is the season when we start to turn our hearts and minds to Thanksgiving, not only the "holiday" but thanksgiving for all God has blessed us with.  My list of blessings is really endless, but among  my most treasured blessings are each one of you... my blogging friends!  You encourage me, uplift me, and just bless my life by visiting, and by your sweet comments.  I thank God for YOU!

May you be blessed in a special way today!

Just a Note to Say Hello!

ODBD products: Beauty, Home Sweet Home, Mini Tag dies, designed by Grace Nywening

Hello friends!  I hope you are all doing well!!!  Today I'm popping in to share a simple card made with the newest (second) ODBD Sept. release set, Beauty.  I also used a sentiment from Home Sweet Home, and cut it with the ODBD custom Mini Tag Dies.

The image is colored with Copics and fussy cut, and mounted on a Sizzix  embossed panel.  I used RV19, RV17, RV55, RV25, RV00 for the stargazer lilies.  The leaves are colored with G07, G24, G43 and G40.  The stamens are Y3 and E07, then topped with some Wink of Stella clear glitter.  That doesn't show in the photo but it gives a pretty sparkle.

My card base is basic black and I lined the inside with a white panel for the written message.  The panels for the front were just cut to size, not with dies.  The Designer paper is BasicGrey Sultry (an older pack in my stash) and the Paper Co. (Hobby Lobby).  I just love black, white and pink together and those are the colors I'm trying to emphasize in my crafting space.  It's a classic combo and so I thought it was the perfect way to go with these gorgeous lilies.

Whenever I see lilies and their incredible intricacies and beauty, I think of this Scripture:

Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
This set has really reminded me of God's creativity and artistry in all His creation!  I hope you love it as much as I do!
Blessings,

This card is made using the Elegant Embellishment stamp set, (heat embossed in gold and sponged with Distress ink) as well as the matching Elegant Embellishments Dies, and one of the gorgeous dies in the Delightful Decorations Die set, (cut from mirrored gold paper and adhered to a die cut of the designer paper).   I also used the 2015 Christmas Paper Collection.  I'm in love with these new stamps and dies and there are lots of them for you to see!

In addition to the new products, I also used the ODBD custom Leafy Edged Borders, Beautiful Borders, and the Circle Ornament dies set (for the gold bows).  The ornaments are popped up on dimensionals, and with these new dies this card really went together pretty quickly!

Welcome to the ODBD Mid Sept. Release!

ODBD stamps: Beauty, dies: Leafy Edged Borders, Fancy Foliage, doily dies, designed by Grace Nywening
Hello friends!  Welcome to the Mid- September Release at ODBD!  As you know, our releases are usually on the first of every month, but this month there are actually two releases!  So there are some wonderful products being released today...and  I have a feeling you're going to love them as much as I do!  You can see them all on the ODBD Blog.

Just as in all our releases, there are prizes offered, and here's how you can qualify to win one of the prizes up for grabs today:
Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until September 15, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments on the Designers Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on September 16th, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

For my first card above, I used what might be one of my all time favorite images, from the new Beauty Set.  The artwork on these Stargazer Lilies is so pretty and they are a ton of fun to color!  I stamped mine with Memento Ink and colored with Copics, then fussy cut the image.  I used a base of Bazzil and then cut a Neenah Solar White layer with the newly released Leafy Edged Border Dies.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set directly on my card base, and layered the white embossed layer so that the sentiment is just peeking out from under the curvy border.  (I do know know the name of the embossing folder... it's an older one with no printing on it at all.  Sorry!) I then cut a thin paper "ribbon" using another of the dies from the same Leafy Edged Border dies by using the die twice at the desired width.  I matted my flowers with an ODBD Custom Doily Dies, and added some flourishes from the Fancy Foliage Die set.  A few pearls are all I added for embellishment, as I felt like the card made a pretty nice statement as it was.  So it's flat (except for pearls) and very mailable!  This is always a good thing!!!

ODBD stamps: Grateful, Dies: Leafy Edged Border dies, Oval dies, Stitched oval dies, BoHo Background dies, designed by Grace Nywening

For my second card... I went a little happy coloring up the pretty Columbine images from the new Grateful set.  I colored three of the images with Copics, and fussy cut them all.  I made a pocket card with the new Leafy Edged Border dies, and some Enchanted Memory Box paper that's been in my stash for a long time now, but I have loved the color combos in this set and thought they went well with my columbine images.  I filled my "pocket" with the images, cutting one on a stem to bend downward and frame my sentiment, which is from the same Grateful set.  I cut the sentiment with the ODBD Custom Stitched Ovals dies, and matted with the ODBD Custom Ovals dies.  The background for the inside of the pocket is embellished with a BoHo Background Die cut from white.  My only embellishments on this card again, are pearls from ZVA Creative.

To recap, here are the new products I used today:

Beauty is God's Handwriting!

ODBD products: Beauty, Leafy Edged Border dies, Vintage Labels dies, Fancy Foliage Dies, Vintage Pattern dies, Chalkboard Paper Collection, designed by Grace Nywening
Hello dear friends!  I hope you are all doing well and enjoying this wonderful time of year!

Today I have a fun pocket card to share with you. It is a sneak peek at some awesome stamps and dies being released tomorrow at ODBD!  I decided to make a pocket card this time.  The card base is Neenah Solar Crest White 140lb stock.  On that I layered a piece of design paper from the ODBD Chalkboard Paper Collection.  Then I cut a curvy edge with the new Sept. 14 release, Leafy Edged Borders dies and cut my diagonal pocket to fit.  I then embossed that panel and adhered it with tacky tape on the bottom and left side.

I cut my removable book mark/tag with the ODBD Vintage Label dies, and Vintage Flourish Pattern die set. I stamped the sentiment from the new Beauty stamp set on a scrap of design paper in my stash.   I decorated the tag with one size of the new Pretty Posies die set, a Fancy Flourish die cut, and I stamped and die cut the little butterflies with the Butterfly and Bugs stamp set and matching Butterfly and Bugs die set. I added a corner die cut from the Ornate Borders and Flowers die set to the top and punched a hole, passing thin satin ribbon through that.

The pocket itself was decorated by cutting 2 of each of the 3 sizes in the Pretty Posies set from white card stock and sponging with distress ink.  I then used my embossing tools to shape each layer and glued them together.  I cut three of the largest leaves in that set and stenciled while still in the die, then shaped them the same way.  Some Stickles in the center, a  little gauze, ribbon and a few more butterflies finished it off.

Thank you so much for having a look!  I hope you will check out the ODBD Blog tomorrow for all the beautiful new things being released!

ODBD stamps: Deep Waters, designed by Grace Nywening
For my first card, I used Deep Waters.  I stamped it with Memento Bahama Blue Ink and only colored one fish to make him stand out from the rest.  I cut the image with the ODBD Custom Stitched Oval Dies and matted with So Saffron card stock, cut with the ODBD Oval Dies.  I used paper from a "Beaches" design paper by Paper House (AC Moore).  I cut an ODBD Custom BoHo Background Die cut from the ODBD Rustic Beauty Paper Collection, sponged with Memento Canteloupe Ink, cut it down in size, and mounted that on my water design paper.  I stamped the sentiment from the same Deep Waters set, and cut with a Vintage Labels Die, and sponged with Memento Canteloupe ink.  I cut several "boughs" (or in this case, coral and sea flora) from the Fancy Foliage Die set, from scraps of Blue and Blue-Green paper, sponging with Memento ink, and tucked them in to frame the image.  I finished off with the word "Love" cut with the Faith, Hope & Love Die Set.

For my second card, I again used Deep Waters, and paper from the same pack but colored the full image with Copics.  Again I cut the image with the Stitched Ovals, matted with the Oval Dies and embossed my design paper layer with a CB Embossing folder.  I also used the ODBD BoHo Background Die and partially cut it out to frame my image.  I used some sparkly ribbon tape from Recollections, and some sheer ribbon and twine to attach my sentiment from the same Deep Waters set, which I cut with an ODBD  Mini Tag Die.  Tucked in behind the "netting" I cut a couple rows of different shades of blue Grass Border Die cuts, bringing some pieces forward for dimension.
