For the box above, I used the new Glorious Gable Box die, the Tulip Heart die, Layering Hearts, and To My Favorite.  I also used a few past releases: Bitty Blossoms, Lovely Leaves, Fancy Foliage, and Mini Tags.

Here are the new Feb release products I used:

The box is sooooo easy to cut and assemble!  You can make the sides plain as I did, or there are pretty die cut inserts if you want a fancier see through effect.  I cut the Tulip Heart from white and backed with a piece of purple paper from the Plum Pizzazz Paper Pack, which I cut with the largest Layering Hearts die.  I then cut several Bitty Blossoms, and some greenery with scraps of green to assemble my little cluster of flowers.  I stamped the tag and die cut it with a Mini Tags die, then embellished with a bitty blossom, leaves and a flourish from the Lovely Leaves die set. I added tiny crystal stickers to my flowers.  Super quick from start to finish, and all tied up with a pretty ribbon in no time at all!  I love the new To My Favorite set!!!  There are soooo many ways this can be used and I love that just about every relationship you can think of is in there!!!  I know it will be a "go to" set for me!

Be sure to stop and see all the other things the girls have done with this new collection!

Happy Birthday Center Step!

Hello friends!  I hope you are all staying well during this bad cold and flu season!  So far so good here!  :)

Today I'm sharing another card made with the ODBD Jan. release.  Today I used the Seeds of Today stamp set, the new happy birthday die, as well as the past releases: Small Bow die, as well as the Lavish Layers dies.  My card base is from the ODBD Center Step card kit

I began with one of the white based, created my folds along the scored lines, and adhered design paper from the Whimsical Wildflower Paper Pack, also in the new release.  I stamped the image from the Seeds of Today set with VersaMark, and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  I cut that layer to size, and matted with brushed gold. I cut another white layer with the Lavish Layers dies, and adhered my image/gold layer to it. I die cut the happy birthday from brushed gold and adhered it to the lower panel.  For decoration, I added 2 die cuts of the Small Bow, one from printed design paper from the Whimsical Wildflower Paper pack, and one from solid paper from the Plum Pizzazz Paper Pack.  I finished off with some tiny white pearls.  I wish the photo showed it better, but the gold embossing is very elegant and looks beautiful with the rich purples.

Well that's it for today!  Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Blessings,

Hand's to work... Hearts to God!

Hello friends!

I hope you are all doing well!  We are enjoying the forecast of snow today... it's supposed to start in a couple hours and since it's Friday afternoon, we're kind of loving it!  No one likes to have to drive in it, but when everyone is home safe and sound, sometimes it's fun to just say "let it snow!"  Being from up north originally, I do appreciate the beauty of the white stuff when it falls, but living in the south now, I appreciate that we don't get very many of these storms!  I guess it's the best of both worlds.

Well today, I have something fun!  I created this little sewing basket with the ODBD newly released Bountiful Basket Dies.  I also used the new Sewing Set Dies, as well as some past releases:  Stitches stamp set, Mini Tags & Labels Dies, Mini Tags Dies, Apron & Tools Dies, Trellis Strip Die, and Soulful Stitches Paper Pack.

Now do you need all these dies to create this?  No!  However, since I have them, I shared a little bit of fun to give different ideas. I would say that with just the Bountiful Basket die, and the Sewing Dies, you could create this same basic effect.   I die cut the basket and the inserts with the Bountiful Basket Dies, adhered and assembled.  I used the Mini Tags die set to create "cards" for my buttons and needles.  I used the Apron & Tools die for the scissors, but you could leave them out and still have the same effect.  I used a scrap of a Trellis Strip die cut I already had to "line" my basket but it could be omitted.  I used the Soulful Stitches Paper Pack for my basket as well as the "quilt" that lines the back of my basket.  All the cute buttons, the needles and the spools of thread are in the new Sewing Dies set (which by the way is only $5.95).  The sentiment is from the Stitches stamp set, and die cut with a Mini Tags and Labels die.  I added a little yarn through the eye of my needle to finish it off.  To get the basket filled, I made little inserts just like come with the Surprise Popup Box die... little strips with about 1/4" folded on each end, attached to the inside of the basket dividing it in to thirds, so I had some place to adhere my elements to.  For some of the elements, I needed to add strips of card stock to "raise" them a little higher.  It was so much fun putting this together and I just LOVE how the little Sewing Dies make this theme so easy to do!!!

So there you have it... and now I am going to go start some chicken soup to enjoy during this snow storm!

Blessings to you, my friends!

Welcome to the January ODBD Release!

Hello friends!  Happy 2017!!!!  I don't know about you... but life seems to be flying by at warp speed for me!!!  Anyway... we are done with Christmas for now, and it's time to turn our creative thoughts to other things!  I absolutely love the new purples in the January ODBD newly released  paper packs~ and the new stamps and dies are just perfect to keep away the winter blues!

If you have not had a chance to see the full release, you can do so HERE.
Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 Gift Code to the ODBD Website  just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until January 2, 2017 at 9:00 p.m. EST to leave your comments on the Designers Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on January 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!
For the card above, I used the new Seeds of Today stamp set, and the new thanks die.  I stamped the image with VersaMark, heat embossed with gold, and cut it with a Layered Lacey Ovals die.  While it was still in the die I sponged some distress inks lightly around the image, and the inks resisted the embossed parts.    This is called emboss resist, and I haven't used the technique in quite a while, but I love the look!  I used design paper from the Whimsical Flower Paper Collection, cut with the Double Stitched Rectangles, and matted that with a purple solid paper from the Plum Pizzazz Paper Pack, and cut with the Pierced Rectangles.   I added some bling to finish off the card.

For the basket below, I used the super fun new ODBD Custom Bountiful Basket Die.  I cut the basic basket from white card stock, and the design paper pieces from the Plum Pizzazz Paper Pack.  I used the new Seeds of Today stamp set for my sentiment, stamping it with purple ink.  I then die cut it with the Ornate Ovals die, and matted it with an Ovals die.  I die cut the purple bow using the ODBD Custom Small Bow die.  I attached my handles with brads, which gives me full range of motion for the handles.  I filled my basket with hard candies, thinking it would make a cute favor for the table.

To recap, here are the NEW ODBD products I used today:
