For my card I used ODBD's Tulip Tag set to create this pretty simple card.

This set also coordinates with the Tag Die!

I used SU! Pear Pizazz and Blushing Bride, and Papertrey Vintage Cream.  The designer paper is K&Co Spring Blossom.  The ribbon is May Arts Silk, the image is colored with Copics and the ink is Memento Rick Cocoa. The pearls are ZVA Creative.

Hope you enjoyed my super quickie card!  I love Easter!!! For the Christian, it is at the very heart of our faith and hope, in that since Jesus arose from the dead, victorious over death, we too will be given everlasting life!   Death is not to be feared, because if we know Him as our Savior we know we will be with Him eternally!  What an awesome and joyous thought!  I am wishing YOU Easter JOY!

Happy Monday!  Hope your week is off to a great start!  Today I have a little sneak peek for you.  This is a set to be released by Our Daily Bread designs called Cat SympathyI have to tell you.... there is a need for these sets!  My next door neighbor just had to put her long loved dog down, and guess what I am making for her!  More on that later on in the week.... but here's my kitty card.  I love this sweet kitty image.  It could be just a cutesy card too... without the addition of the sympathy sentiments!  I colored mine like my granddaughters kitty.  The base is Bazzill, the dp is Alla Prima, and I used Spellbinders Classic Squares, Classic Scalloped Squares, and Tags five.  I added a crocheted flower and button, some MS punched butterflies, and some ribbon and twine.  The image itself is colored with Copics.  Well... that's it for tonight!  More soon!  Don't miss the release on April 1!

Comforting Words

Comforting-Wishes

Hello friends!  I hope your week is going well!  I'm not feeling great today, but I do have a card to share with you.  I made this for the SCS sketch challenge, using the special Anniversary Release at Our Daily Bread designs.  Once again, this was the sentiment I submitted, and it is in the set called Sentiments Collection.  I also used the dragonflies from Faithful Friend.  I used Flourishes White Card Stock, Memento Bamboo Ink, Alcohol inks for the dragonflies, EK Success Lattice Punch, May Arts Ribbon and a Spellbinders Antique Frame & Accents set for my frame.  I inked the negative part of the Cuttlebug folder for the darker panels, and just sponged lightly on the raised part of the lighter panel.  That's it!  CAS for me!

ODBD 4th Anniversary Special Release Blog Hop!

4Anniversarysent

Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs 4th Anniversary Special Design Team Edition  Release Blog Hop!  If you got here from Chris Olsen's incredible blog, you are in the right place!  If not, you might want to start at the ODBD Blog so you are sure to not miss anyone!  If any links are lost along the way, you can always get the entire list of links from the ODBD Blog as well!

The bread sticks are so excited to be celebrating this special milestone in the life of ODBD!  It is such a blessing to work for a company that brings glory to God in every stamp set created, and offers us the tools we need to do the same with every card we create!  If you are a long term follower of ODBD, then you know that each year, the Design Team submits a favorite Scripture for the special anniversary sets, and those suggestions have been the sum total of all the "Scripture Collection" stamp sets in the store.  This year, the special sets include our favorite Scriptures, but also quotes and sentiments that we feel would be great on cards or  projects.  I think you will find some of the most encouraging and uplifting words available in stamps in these special anniversary sets!

So, here are the Details of the Anniversary Hop:
  • The Hop will run 8am EDT Mar. 17 until 8pm EDT Mar 18.
  • The winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on Mar 19.
  • Four  hoppers will win a FREE ANNIVERSARY SET and One blessed hopper will win The Complete Anniversary  Bread Basket Bundle!!!
Here is what you have to do to be qualified to win one of these prizes:
  • Hop to each designer’s blog and leave a comment
  • Return to the Our Daily Bread designs blog and leave a comment telling us that you completed the hop, making note if there were any you could not comment on.
  • Along with your statement that you completed the hop, leave some Anniversary wishes for Kelley and the gang at ODBD!
Now... for the brief details of my card:

I submitted this sentiment to The Sentiment Collection because I feel that the hardest cards I make are the sympathy cards, or the ones for people who are going through severe struggles, whether it be cancer, a terminal illness, a  loss of a loved one or even the loss of a job or other important part of our every day lives here on this earth!  Sometimes, words just come hard at times like that, and I wanted a sentiment that could be used for ANY loss or painful situation.  Directing pained and grieving hearts to God's faithfulness, His promises, and His perfect love is my greatest desire at such times.  I know I will use this sentiment often!  I hope you find it meaningful as well!

4Ann-detail

My card base is SU! Kraft, and the designer paper is My Mind's Eye.  The sentiment is cut with a Spellbinder's classic oval large, and framed with a SB Lacey oval. I have embossed a Cuttlebug design on the bottom, and added Fanciful Flourishes by Cheery Lynn. I added some hand dyed seam binding and various flowers from my stash, some Martha Stewart punched boughs, and then topped it off with a sweet Cheery Lynn Exotic Butterfly Small.

Now I will send you on to the next stop on the hop... be delighted with Debi's beautiful creation!

Happy Anniversary Kelley and the ODBD Team!

Here is my card.

FauxSilkBirdBG

I used the Faux Silk Technique that Angie did a tutorial on this week, as we continue to celebrate the 4th Anniversary of ODBD.  I had this sparkly aqua tissue paper that I have been saving for some special project, so I stamped with Stazon on my crumpled up tissue, and adhered it to my background.  It was super easy and fun.  My base is Coredinations with an aqua core so the inside of the card is aqua.  I inked up the Bird & Butterfly Label with Stazon and stamped on Gina K White. I stamped the sentiment from Flourished Verses using my Stamp-a-ma-jig,  and cut the image with the matching Spellbinder's Labels 18.  I also used a Spellbinders Lace Doily Accents for my lace trim, and finished off with May Arts ribbon and a hand made tissue carnation.  Remember making tissue flowers as a kid?  That's exactly what I did but on a very tiny scale.

From here hop to Sandee's Gorgeous Blog.

PLEASE don't miss our big Special Anniversary Release Blog Hop on Saturday (the 17th)!  The new special release is wonderful and we have lots of wonderful prizes... hope to see you then!!!

Designer's Favorites Flower Hunt Game!

Anniversary-Faves1

We are celebrating the 4th Anniversary of Our Daily Bread designs!  All this week we have special events going on over on the ODBD Blog, so be sure to check them out!  Today we have something that we hope will be pure fun for all! One Dozen of the Bread Sticks have baked up a special game for you! We decided to shower ODBD with a bouquet of flowers, since flowers are one of the traditional gifts for a 4th anniversary. You will be collecting these flowers along the way, and creating a beautiful bouquet for Kelley and all of Our Daily Bread designs!

We each have created a special card or project using at least one of our own personal ALL TIME FAVORITE ODBD sets. SIX of us will also have a special blog button with a special flower on it! (It will be labeled as a Designer's Flower Hunt Game, and will give the name of a flower.) Look for it in the designer's side bars of their blogs. HINT:  I just might be one of the designers who has one... so look carefully! :)

To play the game:

  • Visit each designer listed below
  • Keep a list of each designer who has a special flower blog button.  Write down the designer's name and the name of the flower they have.
  • When you have visited all 12, left comments and found the 6 flowers, send an email to me (Grace )at gnywening@yahoo.comSimply name the 6 designers who had the flowers and the flower they had.
  • Winners will be chosen randomly from all who email me with their list by 9:00pm EST Mar. 15th!

In celebration  of the FOUR years that ODBD has been giving glory to God, and growing as a significant player in the stamping world, we decided  to try to pick our FOUR ALL TIME FAVORITE ODBD sets, and to use at least one on our project today.  Yikes!!!  How can I possibly just choose 4?  Well.... if I have to, I have listed here what I believe are :
Sing to the Lord  because I just LOVE the bird and flower images in this set!
Scripture Collection 4 and Scripture Collection 7 - because I love the Scriptures in these sets, and they are two of the sets that have my submitted favorite verse so I use them often!
Birthday Blessings  because I collect teacups and LOVE this image, as well as the size of the Happy Birthday font.... it's so easy to tuck in anywhere on your layout!

So here is what my project using some of my all time favorite ODBD sets...

Anniversary-Faves2

I used two of my favorite sets... Sing to the Lord, and Scripture Collection 7.  I also used another suggestion that I made for a stamp... It is Well with My Soul Hymn.

Anniversary-Faves3

My layout is a very different design very roughly based on an idea I saw somewhere on Pinterest, though I totally redsigned it! LOL!  I used a number of dies on this card:  Cheery Lynn Italian Flourish Doily, Spellbinders Ornate Artisan Tags & Accents, Spellbinders Labels 17 & Labels  8, and a Cuttlebug embossing folder (sorry, I can't remember the name).  The base is Bazzill Safari, designer paper is Prima Romantique, brushed God by Recollections, Ivory cs by Gina K.  I also had to add a little silk for this 4th anniversary... so the bow is May Arts Silk.  I did all the coloring with Copics and finished with Hero Arts Pearls, Gold Cording, Tassle and Trims from my stash, and brads from m stash.  Lots of sponging with Adirondak Latte, and the other stamping was done with Memento Ink.

Here is a picture of it totally open laying flat so you can see better the full design:

Now, I'll send you on your way.  Here are the dozen bread sticks in the bread basket today:

Grace  {you are here}

Don't forget the blog hop and release of the Special Edition Anniversary sets on March 17!  You won't want to miss it!!!!  Hope to see you then... and enjoy all the other things going on this week on the ODBD Blog!!!

Cooling Breezes in aqua

You-are-such-a-blessing-to-

Hello friends!  Happy Sunday!

Today I have something a little different for you... a paper fan that yes, actually closes up!  I wanted to play along this week with the Shining the Light Challenge over on the ODBD Blog to help celebrate Our Daily Bread designs's 4th Anniversary, coming up next Sat!  The challenge is to use aqua or topaz (the birth stone for March) and an ODBD Scripture, quote or sentiment.  I also played along with the Inspiration Challenge yesterday at SCS, which was all about fans!  So I made my own paper fan.

I hand cut my pattern from Papertrey cs and stamped the flourish and tag from Our Daily Bread designs Flourished Verses and also the small flower from ODBD's Sing to the Lord, using Baja Breeze ink (SU!).  I then embossed each panel with a Cuttlebug folder and punched a hole in the bottom of each fan panel.  I ran gold cord through the hole and then attached thin ribbon on the back at the edge of each panel so it would fold flat. I tied on a May Arts silk bow and added a tag from the same Flourished Verses set.  I stamped a few extra flowers and cut them out, adding them for dimention but in ways that they don't interfere with the folding of the fan, and tied in a string of pearls as well.  This could be a stand along card, gift or even would look nice in a shadowbox with a few more treasures added!  Hope you enjoyed my project!

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Catered Crop Ribbon,Let`s Ink It Up - Show Us Your Flowers,  Allsorts -  Say it with Flowers, Just Some Lines Spring Cleaning time, use at least 2 items that are at least 6 months old (Silk ribbon, gold cord, pearl string), Stamp, Scrap and Doodle -  Fancy Fold, Crafty Ann's - 2W, SIO – Week 2, Anything But A Card, Hotshot Crafts –  Ribbon,

How about a masculine card?

A-friend

Hello friends!
I hope you enjoyed your weekend and that this week is off to a wonderful start!  Prayers for all those in the areas devastated by the terrible storms of last Friday here in the US!

I have been enjoying some "grandma" time so have not spent any time in my craft room, but I did want to share a masculine card I had made before I left, using Our Daily Bread Design's NEW sets Sweet Friendship (frame) and Faithful Friend (sentiment).  My base is Mark's Finest Paper, and the dp is K&Co, and the corrugated I have had in my stash forevah! The frame due cut is Spellbinders. I used Memento ink and colored with copics.  I added some fine twine from the jewelry dept of Hobby Lobby, and some Recollections brads to finish this real CAS layout off.  It's so hard for me to keep it simple, and to make it masculine.  Hopefully I achieved that with this one! LOL!

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Anything Goes Challenge -  #62 Boyz to Men, Creative Craft Challenges - Boys Will Be Boys, Incy Wincy Designs - Something Old/New, Make it Monday - always Anything Goes,  Paper Pretties -Going Green,  Amusing Challenges - Die Cuts, Paper Sundaes - Green or Good Luck

Thanks so much for stopping by!  My verse today was one I thought I'd share: "The Lord says, 'I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.  I will advise you and watch over you".  Ps 32:8 (NLT)  What a precious promise!  May He guide your pathways today!

You are in my thoughts and prayers

You-are-in-my-thoughts-and-

Hello friends!  Today I have a card I made using two of the newly released Our Daily Bread designs sets... Flourished Verses and Faithful Friend.  I started off with a base of Bazzill, and then used Alla Prima for my designer paper.  I used alcohol inks for the dragonflies but my mixative was dried up so they are not as pretty as they could be, although IRL they are more vivid than in the photo.  Anyway... this sketch was from Seems a Little Sketchy .  I used Cheery Lynn Italian Doily for my circle element, and also used Spellbinder's Lattice Rectangles, Classic Circles Lg and Classic Scallped Circles Lg.  Embellishments include Prima roses, bakers twine, MS bough punched greenery, and some fabby lace give by a sweet friend.  You know who you are... and thank you!!!

You-are-in-my-thoughts-deta

I am also entering this in the following challenges:
Do You Stack Up? - Things with wings, Little Miss Muffet ChallengesFancy or lacy, Paper Crafting Journey -Anything made with paper goes, Paper PlaySomething old, something new (new stamps, old pearls and cs), Shelly's ImagesSeeing spots, Stampin for the Weekend - Bingo (lace, pearls, polka dots), Raise the Bar - use twine, Fussy & Fancy - longer sentiment than standard Happy Birthday, Good Luck, CCEE Stampres - Spring Scene,  Cute Card Thursday - Signs of Spring, Delightful Sketches - Spring Colours
