MERRY CHRISTMAS and BLOG CANDY!

Poinsettia-Frame-Graphic451

To enter the drawing for my Blog Candy... please click HERE

Hello dear blogging friends! I prescheduled this post because I am with family this week, enjoying happy times and making treasured memories.... and most of all thanking God for His indescribable gift! To think that even in my rotten sinful state, GOD... the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End... the Creator of the universe, and the Sustainer of all things was mindful of me... just amazes me so much, I really can't fully fathom it! But I stand on His Word as true, and thank Him for so great a love... so great a plan that He would give His one and only Son, and that that Son would humble Himself and become a man so that He could pay the price for the sin of the world... WOW! He did all this because He loves us... you and me! No matter how sinful we have been, no matter what we have done, no matter how far from Him we are... He loves us and wants to have a personal relationship with us! So on this Christmas day... many of my thoughts and prayers will be in thanksgiving for His ultimate gift... Jesus... Emanuel... God with us! I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and a new year filled with God's richest blessings!

I made this card using Layers of Color Poinsettia Frame cling art stamp and the Spellbinder's Label Sixteen. I love these beautiful frames and having them match the spellbinders dies just makes them even sweeter! LOC is excited to be a Spellbinder's Preferred Company! The designer paper is Graphic 45 and the cs is Gina K.

Though You are Little...

Inchie-Tag

Welcome to another Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge! Today our challenge hostess is Peggysue. She has chosen a wonderful verse for this Christmas season! Micah 5:2

"But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting."

Peggysue's challenge is to make a project using inchies.

What a great verse for this time of the year!!! Have you ever thought about how with God... so often the little, the humble, the poor are the ones He exalts? Bethlehem was just a little town but God honored it as the place in which His very own Son would be born. Years later, when Jesus had begun His ministry His disciples asked Him who will be the greatest in heaven. Jesus' answer was whoever humbles himself as a little child will be the greatest in heaven. (Matt 18:4) As humans, our tendency is to be impressed by wealth, power, position... but God is interested in inner qualities... qualities like humility, mercy, peacemaking, gentleness, purity. These are the things that impress God! Sometimes you and I may feel like little fish in a big sea... what can we do to make a difference in this world? Well... I have a feeling that God is honored by the little things we do that no one else even knows about! He tells us we already have our reward if we receive praise here on earth... but our reward is in heaven for those things we quietly do or say that have eternal value that no one might even know about but Him! So lets never forget that even the little things that we can do daily are very important to God! He can use us in the simplest of ways! When you think about it that way... it's pretty cool to be a little inchie, don't you think?

For my project I needed a tag for a package I had wrapped in this pretty snowflake paper. So in keeping with the "little" idea, I used my inchies on a little tag. I used the smallest snowflake from the Our Daily Bread designs set "Peace and Joy" and I cut it with the custom made die. I stamped my snowflakes with Baja Breeze on Gina K Pure Luxury Ivory. I died my seam binding to match.

Our sponsor this week is Our Daily Bread designs.
The prize is a $15.00 Gift Certificate!

Crystals in the Snow

Blue-Christmas-Ornament

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing another Christmas card I made with this month's release by Our Daily Bread designs, "Ornament". I am just in love with this ornament! I love how perfectly it fits the Spellbinder's Heirloom Ornament die and how versatile it is!

I used Midnight Madness Sketch 84 for this layout. If you haven't checked out Midnight Madness this month, you should! All the sketches are up for the whole month and you can make any one as you are able! We had a little snow Sunday here and it was blustery cold all day today, so this made me think of white and sparkle. This is what I came up with. I stamped the ornament in Stazon Silver and colored lightly with Copics. I matted the ornament with two of the same size die cuts from silver that I had left over from another project. This gave just a little depth to the ornament. I used a Cuttlebug ornament embossing folder from the Winter Wonderland Bundle, May Arts Silver ribbon and the dp is ADT Momenta Specialty Collection "Jack Frost". It's a sparkly paper. The base is Martha Stewart and the white is Gina K Pure Luxury. The bling is from Micheal's.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Encouragement the Moxie Fab way!

Granny's-Jewels

Happy Sunday and welcome to another Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge! This week our hostess is the sweet and talented Patti! The Scripture Patti chose for this week's challenge is "Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them." ~Ephesians 4:29 NLT

Patti's challenge is "A Way with Words". Create a card or project that will compliment, encourage, or cheer someone in need of uplifting.

I wanted to play this week's Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World as well, so I made two cards that fit both of these challenges. The Moxie Fab Tues. Trigger is "All that glitters" and is based on this gorgeous inspiration photo:

Aren't these colors and this ring amazing? I won't even tell you what this baby costs! But here is my second take on the trigger:

God-Loves-You-lavender

The top card is made with Layers of Color Granny's Jewelry clear art stamp set, stamped in Stazon Silver, and Gina K Fanciful Tags (by Nina Brackett) for the sentiment, heat embossed in white. The second card is made with Our Daily Bread designs "God Loves You" set, stamped in Lavender Lace (SU!). Both cards are on a base of EK Success Craftstock (Purple Heliotype) and use designer paper by Kaisercraft (Airy Fairy). The ribbon is from my stash, as is all the bling. Both cards were made in a snap... REALLY CAS for me, but I do like them and know I have many uses for Praying for you cards!

Our Sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp

Back in Stock! Ornament Blessings

Ornament-Blessings

Hello everyone! Today I'm giving you another look at the wonderful Ornament set that was released by Our Daily Bread designs this month, sold completely out, and is now back in stock! This release has just gone like crazy, and who wouldn't want this gorgeous ornament which is made to fit perfectly with the Spellbinder's Heirloom Ornament Die! I used a base of Bazzill, a layer of Real Red and the designer paper is Graphic 45. Love this paper! I added some punch work made with a MS punch on scraps of River Rock sponged with distress ink. The ornament is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copics. I stamped an extra flower and cut it out to pop it up for dimension, curing the leaves on my piercing tool. The ribbon is from my stash.

Here is a look at the inside, which uses another ODBD Dec. release... Christmas Blessings, also now in stock. I love this set for how perfectly the sentiments say just what you want to say on the inside of a card!

Layers of Color stenciled gift bag

Shimmery-Christmas-Bag

Hello everyone! Christmas is coming soon, and I wanted to share with you a gift bag I made using Layers of Color Natural Flourish art stencil. I used Tim Holtz Acrylic Dabber in Pearl and it has a wonderful luminescence. I dabbed the paint onto Deja Views designer paper from the Timeless Collection. I then stamped an image from Layers of Color Touch of Elegance clear art stamp set in Not Quite Navy to act as a shadow. I then over-stamped another image from the same stamp set in the TH Pearl paint. The top of the bag is punched with a MS Snowflake punch from Effects PaperCraft Pad by Canson... it's very opalescent. For my tag I cut a Spellbinder's Snowflake Pendant twice, sponged with Brilliance Platinum Planet Ink and glued together for thickness. I stamped the sentiment from Nina Bracketts set "Fanciful Tags", available from Gina K. I cut it out with the Spellbinders Fancy Tag and adhered it to the snowflake tie on. My handles are stiff ribbed ribbon from Michael's. The ribbon is May Arts to which I added a touch of bling. I used the basic instructions found at Create with Connie & Mary, though I made some changes. This bag is very sturdy with a lining inside that could hold substantial weight. I hope this inspires you to try some different ideas for your Christmas projects. The stencil and the art stamp set are not Christmas, yet stamped in shimmery pearl paint and a few snowflakes added certainly make it work for Christmas! Have fun with it!

I am adding this to the following challenges:

They shall be white as snow

White-snowflakes-with-a-spl

Isaiah 1:18 Come now and let us reason together," Says the Lord, though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Welcome to another Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge! This week our hostess is the my wonderful DT sister, Rebekkah. She has chosen Isaiah 1:18 for the Scripture and the challenge is a color challenge: to make a white card/ project with a splash of red.

It's hard to think of a more meaningful Scripture when you really think about it! This is the message of salvation through the precious shed blood of Jesus for you and for me... applied to us by grace through faith. Because of the work of Christ on the cross... my sins are washed clean. Does that fact amaze you? Do you believe it? Are you living in the joy that comes from knowing you've been forgiven and your sins have been removed... not just forgiven but removed as far as the east is from the west? As we anticipate this wonderful time of year when we celebrate the birth of Christ... let's never forget that He came not just to be that sweet baby in the manger who would grow up to do many miracles.... He came to die! He came to die for the sins of the world! I hope your Christmas celebrations will be centered on Him and what He did for you!!!

My card is made with Our Daily Bread designs Peace & Joy set and matching Die. I used the Snowflake Background and embossed with Stampendous Kaleidoscope embossing powder. While it looks clear in the photo... in real life it picks up all sorts of colors and sparkle. I also used 2 embossing folders... one is Crafts Too and one is Cuttlebug from the Winter Wonderland collection. The gems are from Micheal's, ribbon from my stash. I hot glued the snowflake beads to the ribbon. The card stock is Gina K.

Our sponsor this week is Clear Dollar Stamps!

The prize is a $15.00 Gift Certificate to the CDS Store! Check out all their wonderful new products! We thank them for their generosity!

So today I had fun playing! I used the Tues. Trigger over on Moxie Fab World, for my inspiration, which was this yummy gingerbread snowflake cookie!

I used the big snowflake stamp and matching die cut from Our Daily Bread designs "Peace and Joy" set. I stamped it on SU! Soft Suede with white Craft ink and heat embossed in Stampendous White embossing powder. I cut it out with the custom die, then cut the largest snowflake from the Spellbinder's Snowflake Pendant from soft suede. My card base is soft suede, then Gina K Pure Luxury White embossed with a Cuttlebug folder from the Winter Wonderland collection. For my sentiment I stamped using Memento Rick Cocoa Ink and cut with a SB ribbon trio tag, cutting one side shorter to remove the ribbon slot. I added a snippet of ribbon and a snowflake brad. Easy peasy and easily reproducible in mass if you are still looking for quick ideas for those holiday cards!

Silver-Ornament-set2

Now on to my project! I decided to make some ornaments with the new set, "Ornaments". As I'm sure you know... ODBD is so pleased to have been chosen a Spellbinder's Preferred company, and this set is our first custom made set to fit the Spellbinder's Heirloom Ornament Die set. I have loved using this stamp to make cards but for something different, I stamped with Stazon Silver Ink onto acetate and they stamped like a dream!!! I then used the largest and second largest Spellbinders Heirloom Ornament die to cut out and emboss my brushed silver cs from Hobby Lobby, making a frame for the acetate. I strung some beads onto a thin wire and secured that to the inside of the bottom of the ornament, and then I secured a ribbon loop to the top. Then I sandwiched the acetate between two silver borders and glued together. Since I don't have my Christmas tree up yet, I decided to tape these to my window to show you how they look hanging... and it gave me an idea! My DMIL is in a nursing home and can't have a tree in her room, but still enjoys a little decoration during the holidays, so she does have a large window, and how pretty would these look as sun catchers in her window!?

Silver-Ornaments-in-window

So that gave me the next idea... to make a gift box to send them in. I used my Cricut and my "Boxes, Bags and Tags" cartridge to cut the box out, using the same silver cs. Once cut I centered my largest ornament die cut on the box top and cut and embossed it. using the die as a template, I hand drew a 1/4" smaller one from this pretty patterned silver and white cs (also Hobby Lobby) and cut that out. I stamped another ornament on acetate and attached to the back of the cover, along with the silver and white mat I had cut. The border on the box is simply four Spellbinders corner dies and little strips to fit behind them to give just a little more interest to the box. I tied it all up with a May Arts Sheer Ribbon and done. I hope these will put a smile on my elderly Mother in Law's face to have some pretty decorations in her room this Christmas!

Silver-Ornament-Box

I hope you enjoyed my projects today! From here, hop on over to Becca's Blog for some GREAT inspiration from one talented lady!!!

I am entering this in the Shabby Tea Room Get in Shape challenge.

Be blessed, and have a wonderful Christmas, celebrating the birth of our Savior!

Friends forever

LOC

Hello everyone! Today I have a card I made for my design team sisters and Layers of Color owner, Laura... Due to my own personal limitations, and not wanting stamping to consume my whole life, I have decided to step down from the "official" design team but I am not going far! I am going to be a "Friend of Layers of Color", and I will continue to use and blog Layers of Color products because I love them and they are so fun! You may even see me popping in on a blog hop from time to time! :) I feel some sadness in doing this because this is truly such a special company and design team!!! I love every one of my sisters...and Laura is such a special godly woman... but that won't change! We decided to have the theme of our blog hop today "Friends Forever", because that is how we all feel. So I decided to choose as joyful an image as I could find to celebrate this forever kind of friendship! I chose Layers of Color Reindeer Waltz because these guys just look like they are having a blast together... and it's the way I feel about this team! I used Webster's Pages, some unknown aqua on which I stamped images from this set with VersaMark and heat embossed with Kaleidoscope embossing powder. I used Spellbinder's Labels 17 for my main panel and matted that with a Beaded Oval which I cut in order to enlarge it to show around the Label 17. I used some dotted ribbon from my stash and the little sentiment is hard to see in the photo, but it's from Studio G and says "friends for life".

I do want to thank Laura for the opportunity she gave me to be on this team and I am honored to have been here for the past 8 months. I appreciate the sweet godly spirit present in each DT member! What a special place to be!

Please be sure to keep your eye out for great new things coming your way from Layers of Color!!! It's exciting to watch God bless a company that's focused on Him!

Victorian Framed Encouragement

victorain-framed-grace

Happy Sunday! I hope those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving had a wonderful holiday, and lots of time to thank the Lord for His many blessings! Today we have a new Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge for you. Lisa is this week's hostess and she has chosen Philippians 4: 13 for this week's Scripture:

" I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

The challenge is to make a card/project of encouragement or congratulations.

I love this verse and remind myself of it often. In our own power and strength, we can do nothing, but when we are yielded to His will in our lives, `He gives us just what we need when we need it! Have you ever been through a terribly difficult time and thought you just couldn't make it through? But then, from somewhere, you got the strength to go on and looking back on it you realize that that strength was straight from God! I chose this sentiment from Our Daily Bread designs Grow in Grace, because it goes hand in hand with our theme this week. Whether you need encouragement to just keep moving on one step at a time, or whether you stand on the edge of a big leap of faith... He promises to give you the grace you need when you need it! In myself I can do nothing, but in Christ, I can do whatever He wants me to do!

The frame I used is from Layers of Color, and is the Victorian Frame cling art stamp. I just love this frame and how perfectly it fits the Spellbinders Labels 14. I love how it frames the sentiment from Our Daily Bread designs. I wanted a soft feminine feel to this, so I lightly chalked the frame and matted it on some pretty soft Websters pages and lace. I added Prima flowers and butterfly and punched some leaves from the Prima packaging. It was a super quick card as I had very little time to create this weekend!
Our Sponsor this week is Score Pal ! We want to thank them for their generous donation and support of Stampin Sisters in Christ! Be sure to check the SSIC blog for all the prize details!

Ornament-MMS
Hello everyone! I hope you are enjoying a wonderful Thanksgiving break (if you live in the US) and if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving... I hope you still have had time to thank God for His many rich blessings! Please be sure to read the EXCITING NEWS at the bottom of this post!

Today I wanted to show you another sneak peek at the fabulous Ornament set being released by Our Daily Bread designs! I am absolutely in love with this ornament and it is designed to fit in the Spellbinder's Heirloom Ornament frame! I used Midnight Madness Sketch 81 for this card, stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copics. My base is Bazzill and the two dps are Memory Box Mistletoe Pack. For embellishments I added gold pearls, sheer ribbon and gold swirls from the Spellbinder's set "Fanciful Holidays". On the inside of the card I stamped one of the new Our Daily Bread designs sentiments from the "Christmas Blessings" set. I stamped it in a smaller die cut from the ornament spellbinders set, and love how perfectly it fit in it! ODBD is so honored to have been chosen as a Spellbinder's Preferred company, which means the stamping community will continue to be blessed with specially designed images and Scriptures to custom fit Spellbinder's dies! Whoo hoo!
