Anniversary Card: The Nubble Light

Hello everyone!

Please don't forget the blog candy pinned to the top of my page! If you came via reader, just click on my banner!

Today is my 38th Anniversary, and I made this card for my hubby. My daughter had given this stamp to me for Mothers Day and I just love it but had not yet had a chance to use it. This was the time! We still call Maine "home", although we've been gone for a number of years now, but we all just loved it there. Not far from where we lived was the Nubble Light House in York, ME. I think this image looks just like it so I called it that. It was one of our great joys to drive the coast trying to see all the light houses in the state. I knew my hubby would love it, so I used the SCS Sketch from this week to put this together. On the inside is a nice Anniversary sentiment, but I left the outside plain so the image would take center stage. It is watercolored with markers, and then sponged with TH Distress Ink in Linen. The DP is K&Co. I did add a bit of pearl white paint T Holtz) to the front of the house and light to give the effect of the sun shining off them. I added little touches of the pearl white paint to the waves as well for a little depth and shimmer. The anchor charm is from Clear Dollar Store.

Thanks so much for looking and have a blessed weekend!

Tio challenge #2

This was card # 2 for the single layer challenge. This one had to be a "guy" card. I used a Northwoods Rubber Stamp, and stamped it with Stazon on H2O paper. I found this difficult to color because it was so heavily lined. I decided to just do a real watercolor wash on it, so I used SU! Markers and a paint brush. Then I added detail to the leaves, trees, water etc. Of the three cards, believe it or not this one took me the longest. This reminds me so much of my hubby. He loves to fish and has a red canoe, so I painted the canoe like his. I think he'll like this one. Hope you do too!
