The Whole Earth is Full of His Glory Tri-Fold sneak peek

Hello friends!  I hope you are enjoying your day!

Today  am  giving you a sneak peek at fun stamps and dies  being released tomorrow at ODBD!    This is a tri-fold, and each layer has a circle cut out of it, making a window to the next layer.  The new stamps and dies from the November's release that I have used are,  Custom Circle Ornament Dies, going from largest to smallest and a sentiment from The Earth set.   I also used the brand new and available NOW  ODBD Christmas Paper Collection 2013 designer papers, as well as the ODBD Fancy Foliage Dies.

I started with a 5.5 x 12" piece of Bazzill card stock, scoring at 4" and 8".  I folded each side toward the inside, trimmed off the corners of the top layer, and then started laying out my papers and decided where I wanted my circle window openings.  I chose several different papers from the Christmas Paper Collection 2013, and then cut using the ODBD Custom Circle Ornaments Dies.  The inside circle with the sentiment stamped on it is actually the cut away from layer two, cut again with the next smaller circle.  The sentiment is stamped with Memento ink.  I trimmed the card with a couple sprigs of greenery cut with the ODBD Custom Fancy Foliage die set, and a pretty poinsettia from Hobby Lobby.  I added a photo turn to hold the card closed before adhering the dp on the back side so that the brad back does not show.

Here is a look at it after you open the first fold.

Here it is open all the way.  The inside sentiment is popped up on dimensionals.

I am submitting this to Word Art Wednesday where it's always anything goes with a Scripture or encouraging sentiment, and a free digi is given.  I am also entering it in this week's Shining the Light Challenge which is to NOT use ribbon or lace.

I hope you'll be back tomorrow to see the full ODBD release!

Thanks ever so much for stopping by!  I love hearing from you!

Sing for Joy!

Hello friends!  I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful week!

Today I had the pleasure of playing along with the SCS sketch challenge.  I love sketches!  I figure they save a lot of the time I usually spend trying to decide on a layout for my card!

I used some of the gorgeous papers from Our Daily Bread designs newly released Christmas Paper Collection 2013 for my vertical panels. I also used an older set Sing for Joy along with the custom Cardinal Die that cuts this image out, and the sentiment is from a set to be released Nov. 1 called Christmas Pattern Ornaments. I used a Darice embossing folder for my background, and a Cuttlebug ef to mat my bird.  I sponged all the layers with a combination of Distress Inks.  The image itself is stamped with Memento and colored with Copics, and cutting it out with the custom die is a joy!  So quick!!!  My card base is Always Artichoke.  The background is vanilla, heavily sponged for a warmer tone.

That's it for me today!  I hope you are singing for joy in the Lord, and I hope you'll stop by on Nov. 1 to see all the goodies coming your way from Our Daily Bread designs!  Hope to see you then!

I'm Nuts About You!

Hello friends!  I do hope you are all doing well!!!

Today I have something fun to share with you.  This is a card made from this month's ODBD release.  I used Thankful Song for my image and sentiment, and Autumn Blessings for the leaves, as well as the ODBD Custom Fall Leaves and Acorn Dies.

I seldom do "cutesie" cards but I did have fun trying to figure out how to color a squirrel!  LOL! I stamped him with Memento and colored with Copics.  I used a SB Classic Square Small to cut him out and then added to a rectangle panel which I embossed with a Sizzix Leaf folder and sponged with distress ink.  The designer paper is all BoBunny Forever Fall and the base is Chocolate.  A little twine and K& Co bling and done.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I love knowing you were here!

Peace, Love and Joy!

Hello friends!  I hope your week is going well!  I have some oral surgery tomorrow and am trying to get things done today so just in case I'm feeling yucky afterward.  Anyhoo... I do have a card to share that I created for this week's sketch challenge on SCS.

I love this new paper that ODBD just released, called Christmas Paper Collection 2013. I used a coordinating  stamp set called Sacred Season. This was one of my favorite sets from a past release, because I love pine cones!  I collect them from all over the place!  Lol!

The base is Always Artichoke, sentiment panel is Very Vanilla, sponged with various distress inks. SB Deckled Rectangles were used to cut the sentiment panel, and the image stamp was colored with markers, then lightly colored with copics and sponged. Very CAS for me, but very mailable!

I hope you have a blessed week!

Give Thanks!

Hello friends!

Today I'm sharing another fall card that I will use for Thanksgiving.  I used the gorgeous Fall Flowers Pumpkin released Oct 1 at ODBD, colored it with Copics,  and then cut it with the  custom Pumpkin and Flowers die to cut it out.  I also cut an ODBD Decorative Corner from mustard card stock, and embossed a layer with a Cuttlebug word folder.   To add texture I tied twine around the top of the pumpkin with a SB tag tied on, and the sentiment on the tag is from Thankful Song, also just released.
I added burlap which I stripped of several threads for more texture, and topped that with a sheer olive ribbon so you can see through to the burlap, but still pick up some color. My base is Baked Brown Sugar.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I love knowing you were here!!!

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is Good!

A Thanksgiving Easel

ODBD stamps, Fall Flower Pumpkin, Thankful Song, Pumpkin With Flowers Die, Fancy Foliage Die, Quatrefoil Pattern Die, Elegant Oval Die, designed by Grace Nywening
Hello friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs  October Release

I was  so excited to get some great fall images and this fun Thanksgiving sentiment, so I decided to share one of the Thanksgiving cards I have made for this upcoming holiday.  I created this easel card using the  Fall Flower Pumpkin stamp, the matching Pumpkin With Flowers Die, Thankful Song for the sentiment,  ODBD Custom Fancy Foliage Dies, and the ODBD Custom Quatrefoil Design Die. I also used a Spellbinders Lattice Motif die and the ODBD Elegant Oval Die to mat my pumpkin flower image on.

The image is stamped with Memento and colored with Copics, cut with the custom Pumpkin with flowers die, and adhered to the Elegant Oval die cut, which is embossed with a Sizzix folder. I added some flourishes, cut with the ODBD Custom Fancy Foliage Dies, and a little burlap flower from Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby).   I cut the lower edge with a SB A2 Scalloped Border die, and cut the sentiment from Thankful Song is stamped with Memento ink and cut with a SB Fancy Framed Tags One die.

Here are the ODBD products I used:

We have so much to be thankful for!  I hope that Thanksgiving is a holiday you take the time to truly celebrate, giving all thanks to God, for He is good!

He Shall be Called...

Hello my friends!  I hope you are all doing well!  I am in the midst of a super busy week, but I just had to share something new and fun with you!  ODBD is now carrying their own custom designer paper!!!  You can see it HERE.  It's a 6 x 6" pack with many different designs which coordinate with so many ODBD stamps!  Although this pack is called Christmas Paper Collection 2013, don't be misled... many of these papers can be used for any occasion!  I just got mine yesterday and had to start playing today!  :)

I used the sketch on SCS for this card.  I wanted to use this ODBD Prince of Peace Chalkboard and the He Shall be Called background stamp together, and so I stamped the He Shall be Called back ground on very vanilla with Bravo Burgandy ink, and trimmed to fit on the diagonal. I cut the corners using the smaller cross dies from the ODBD Decorative Corners dies and used the other end of the cuts to mat my diagonal panel. I stamped the Prince of Peace Chalkboard with Versafine black ink, colored just the word "Jesus" from the background again with my Bravo Burgandy marker, and cut that panel out in a circle with a punch. My base is Bravo Burgandy, and the gorgeous dp is from the BRAND NEW  ODBD  Christmas Paper Collection 2013!!! Oh I am so in love with this 6 x 6 paper! I trimmed my ribbon/sentiment panel with an ODBD Fancy Foliage die cut.

Just reading the names ascribed to Jesus is in itself an amazing study!  How amazing is our God!  Even the names given to Jesus in prophecy proclaimed who He is, and He fulfills them all!  I think though, as I think of His names... the one I love to utter the most is... Savior!  He is my Savior....I hope He is Yours!

Titus 2:13 ... looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,..."

Christmas is Love!

Hello friends!  I hope your week is going just splendidly!

I have a couple apron cards to share today.  These were made as class samples for the Christmas classes Kelley is offering.  For both of them, I used this month's Jesus is the Reason for my sentiment on the pocket in Real Red, and the Stitch Background.  For the top one,  I embossed the Stitched Background onto red with white embossing powder.  I added touches or lace and seam binding, and I matted the red with white.  I cut the apron with the ODBD Custom Apron and Tools Die set.  To create a mat from a die like this, all you do is trace the outside line of the die onto card stock and cut it out.  For this apron, all that really involves is cutting the two arm hole arches.  The top is lined up on an A2 top fold, just inside of the fold so the die won't cut it,  and the sides are lined up with your trimmer.

For the card below, I left off the white matting and made the card itself the die cut size.  This makes the card a little smaller than A2 but nicely  fits in a standard A2 envelope.  I stamped the Stitch Background on real red with  white Craft and did not heat emboss it for this one.  As you can see the stitching still shows up well, but not as vividly as the embossed image does.  The lace on this one is pre-gathered lace from my local Fabric store, and the tools are from the Die set   I thought these would be cute at Christmas since we all do some extra baking at that time of the year.

I am submitting these to this week's ODBD Shining the Light Challenge, which is to create your own background... no deisgner paper!  We'd love to have you play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I'd love to know which one you like better!

A Thankful Song of Praise!

Hello friends!  I hope you are enjoying this wonderful time of year!

I have been busy working on other things here and also dealing with some dental issues and Dr. appointments, so today, when I had the opportunity to just play, I decided to try  something different.  I created my background by sponging various shades of Distress Inks on watercolor paper. Then I stamped the ODBD  Honeycomb Background with Copper Color Box Pigment ink just in spots along the edges.  Next I cut a mask for my Maple leaf stamp from Autumn Blessings, and started stamping while masking my leaves on the left side where my colors were basically yellow, orange and a touch of red and green. I used Archival ink for this step.  Next, I spritzed the bg with a little water and let dry.  While that was drying, I stamped my leaves from the Autumn Blessing set with Memento Ink on Cryogen White paper and colored them with Copics in various blends of colors.  I cut them all out with the Fall Leaves and Acorn Dies.  I stamped my sentiment from Thankful Song directly on my background and trimmed the panel to fit the Only Orange mat and the turquoise base.  I adhered the leaves after curling them a bit on my piercing tool, using Tombow Metal Glue on the spine of the leaves.  I added some twine and left it otherwise unadorned, as I wanted the stamped images to take center stage.

It's a different look for me, but I had fun playing with the background.  I had gotten a card from my insurance company that had this basic look to it, and it inspired me to give it a try.

I am entering this in the ODBD Shining the Light Challenge to use fall  leaves.  There's still time to play along but you better hurry!  I am also entering it in this week's Word Art Wednesday Challenge, where it's anything goes with either their free Scripture digi, or any encouraging sentiment or Scripture.

I love the sentiment in this set.  How often do we stop to really think about how our Lord takes care of us?  He is so good to us, and even when we are going through deep waters, we can rest in His promises, and place our complete trust in Him,  Our response to His goodness should be praise.

I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
Ps. 63:4

Have a wonderful weekend!

God's Glorious Canvas!

Hello friends!  I hope your week is going well!  Today I'm sharing another fall card made with this month's release from Our Daily Bread designs.  This is CAS for me but I really love how it came out and hope to do more like this (layout wise)!  I used the Leaves Background and my Kaleidacolor Autmn Leaves Ink pad to ink it up in these gorgeous autumn hues.  I matted that with Old Olive and adhered it to a white base which I embossed with a SB folder.  I then used my T Holtz markers to ink up this sentiment from the Autumn Blessings set and cut that with the ODBD Elegant Oval dies in two sizes.  I added three colors of bling from K&Co and that finished it!  I am surprised at myself, but I actually do like this one, so maybe I'm finally getting the idea on how to do CAS and still like it?  LOL!  Not saying I'm giving up my lace, ribbon, flowers, flourishes, etc. but I have challenged myself to try to make flatter cards that are more easily mailed, and this one fits that bill.

I am entering this in this week's Shining the Light Challenge, which is to use fall  leaves (stamps or dies)!I'm also entering it in this week's Word Art Wednesday, where it's always anything goes with a Scripture or encouraging sentiment!

I hope that you are enjoying this season of the year.  Here on the east coast of the US, our leaves are just beginning to change, and since we had so much rain this year, many are falling before really changing, but even so... the color is beginning to come and I don't think nearly as much of summer's wave goodbye as I do God's glorious paint brush!  What a Creative God we have!  I hope you see His glory in whatever season it is where you live!

Happy Birthday Kelley!!!

Welcome to the blog hop to celebrate the birthday of Our Daily Bread Designs owner, Kelley Holland!  A few of the "breadsticks" have gotten together for this special hop to share cards using Our Daily Bread Designs stamps and custom dies to wish Kelley a Happy Birthday!  We would love for you to hop along with us and leave birthday wishes for Kelley!

For my card I used the Cake Single for my image, and two different sets for my sentiments.  For the "on your birthday" sentiment up at the top of the recipe card, I used a Marker to ink up just part of the birthday sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments.  I cut that with my Word Punch (SU!) and fit it in the tab part of the recipe card.  The "Have a Happy Day" sentiment is from Be Joyful, as are the inside sentiments.   I also used the ODBD Custom Recipe Card and Tags Die to cut both my recipe card and the tag.  My base is Early Espresso, as is the ink for the sentiments, and the image is stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copics.  I added some stickles to the icing, and a Sakura clear glitter pen added some sparkle to the chocolate icing that's oozing out just waiting to be enjoyed!  The designer paper is BoBunny Sweet Tooth.  I added a little May Arts silk bow in pink, because that's one of Kelley's favorite colors.

Here is the inside, which uses TWO sentiments from the Be Joyful set.

Here are the ODBD products I used on this card:

For this card, I created a center step design and used this month's release of Candy Cane, and Jesus is the Reason.  I also used the ODBD Custom Recipe Card and Tags Die for my tag.  I got this cute paper from Hobby Lobby and thought it was perfect for this quick fun card.  I used a SB Scalloped Edge Frame and then Romantic Rectangles to cut my candy cane with.  I laced 1/8" grosgrain ribbon through the frame and added my tag and a tiny crystal candy cane to finish it off.

What do you see when you see a candy cane?

Hello friends!  I hope your week is going well!  Mine seems to be FLYING as I have been working on a HUGE project this week and am FINALLY done with it!  Yay!  So now... on to something more fun!  I'm sharing this wonderful sentiment from the newly released Candy Cane set, at Our Daily Bread designs.  I also used an image from Jesus is the Reason and stamped it over and over to create my own background.  I cut the sentiment with SB Resplendent Rectangles and it's all on a base of Real Red.  Today's WT challenge on SCS was to "wrap it up" or in other words to use ribbon.  I actually used 2 ribbons... one is just a red and white grossgrain, and one a tiny 1/8" satin.  I really did wrap it up with this one though, as I took 2 little sugared candy cane ornaments and with my craft knife I grooved them out a bit so they would "fit" together, before I glued them that way.  I then wrapped my ribbon around them and tied them up.  The one thing that I did wrong was... in my "plan"  the candy cane with the crook at the bottom was supposed to be the other way around so it formed a J but somehow I managed to get them upside down here.  :(  Anyway... I do love this sentiment... I love that it takes something like the traditional candy cane and still weaves in the wonders of what Christ did for us when He came to earth as a baby, and died the most painful way a person can die... all because He loves us, and wants to reconcile us to Himself!  If that doesn't get you in a mood to rejoice... not sure what will!!!

Here is a close up of the ornaments:

Here are the sets I used:

I am entering this in the current ODBD Shining the Light Challenge... Anything Goes with ODBD Stamps!  I am also entering it in the Word Are Wednesday Challenge where it's always anything goes with a Scripture or encouraging sentiment!

Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week!!!

Welcome to the ODBD October New Release!

ODBD stamps, For Unto You, designer Grace Nywening

Hello friends!  Welcome to the ODBD October Release!  If you have not seen the release, please stop by the ODBD Blog to see the entire release, and to read all the details on how you can win a prize this month!

Here's the basics:
One winner will be chosen from one of the designers blog comments to receive a $50 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store good towards the purchase of ODBD Stamps!  You have until October 2nd, 9PM EDT to leave comments.  The winner will be posted on the ODBD Blog on October 3rd.

For my first sample above,   I used For Unto You, one of the chalkboard stamps released this month.  Chalkboards are all the rage right now, and no wonder!  They are easy to do and don't require coloring!  With the ODBD stamps, since they are mostly solid, you are not limited to only making them black, should you want to make them another color!  Simply ink up in a pretty red, green, gold or whatever other color your heart desires, and you can stamp on any color card stock as well!  They even look great heat embossed! Today I decided to go with black ink on ivory card stock for a more traditional blackboard.  I used a variety of papers from my scrap box for this one.  Included are Basic Grey and Memory Box, on a True Thyme base. I cut a scrap of red burlap, not worrying about the fibers being straight, because that just adds to the kind of vintage feel.    I cut some greenery and a brushed gold flourish from the ODBD Custom Fancy Foliage Die set, and added a pretty crepe paper poinsettia from Hobby Lobby.

Now for my second sample:

I used the Leaves Background, Thankful Song, and Autumn Blessings on this card.  I created an alcohol ink background on glossy card stock using THIS tutorial on SCS.  I then embossed one piece with my Craftwell Regency embossing folder, and for the smaller panel I heat embossed the Leaves Background in Black on the alcohol background I had created.  I love how that came out!

I heat embossed the sentiment from Thankful Song with Black, and cut it with an ODBD Custom Elegant Oval Die. I matted that with a black layer cut with the next larger die in that set, added a sheer copper ribbon and the acorns I had cut and embossed with the leaves.

For my leaves on the side, I wanted to create a lot of depth and shape, but also I needed them to be bright and vibrant so as to not get lost against the vivid alcohol ink background.  I stamped my leaves from Autumn Blessings on watercolor paper with Archival Black Ink.  I cut them out, using the ODBD Custom Autumn Leaves and Acorn Dies, and then I watercolored them using SU! reinkers.  When I had the colors I wanted, I spritzed the leaves with a bit more water, shaped them a bit for dimension, and let them dry. (I used my heat gun to speed the process).  Once dry, I heat embossed them with Ultra Thick Embossing Powder (UTEE) several times to give shine and depth.  I also cut some sprigs of greenery from the ODBD Custom Fancy Foliage Die set, and tucked them in. (I can tell I'm going to be using THAT die set over and over again!!!)  To give a little more contrast I curled a few pieces of gold wire around my piercing tool and added the little curly cues to the spray of leaves.

Here are the new ODBD products I used today:

Additionally, I used these ODBD Dies from past releases:

I hope you enjoyed my samples today!  It's so good to have some wonderful fall stamps because I love Thanksgiving, and sometimes I feel like it gets lost amongst the Christmas rush!

Please be sure to visit my DT sisters to see their creations and be inspired!  Don't forget to leave a comment so you won't miss a chance to win!

Blessings,
