Cherry Blossom Hello!

Cherry-Bloossom-Hello

Hi friends!
Just a quick post tonight! I wanted to play in Flourishes release week sketch challenge but I'm getting ready for the family to get here and I am rushing... so this is pretty CAS for me. However... it did get done in the midst of a pretty busy day of cleaning! LOL! So.... here is my Get Sketchy Entry. I used Flourishes Cherry Blossom set, Flourishes white card stock, and the designer paper is Prima Annalee. I stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copics, then highlighted with Spica pens for some shimmer. Sorry you can't see that in this night time photo. The butterfly is from some blog candy I won from Heather! Thanks so much Heather!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Come play along for a chance at the new release!

Sweet Friend

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend!

Today I decided to just play. A sweet friend, Dawn gave me this gorgeous Flourishes set a couple weeks ago and I wanted to try my hand at it. I decided it would work for the Midnight Madness Sketch this week, so used that as my starting point. I can't say I'm thrilled with my first attempt at coloring this because I don't have all the right Copics to give it a little green or yellow contrast, so I used Prisma Pencils but the pic isn't showing all the highlighting that is there. I love this set and just wanted to thank her for it! Now I need lessons in how to color it! LOL!

I used a Bazzill base, BasicGrey dp (Indian Summer) and Gina K Pure Luxury layering weight white, and stamped the image on X-ress-it. LOVE that paper! I embossed with Cassie's Brocade CB EF. I added some stickles to the flowers and some May Arts twine. I cut a section of another stamped image out and added that to the tag. I did a little paper piercing around the edges. This is a big image so there was not a lot of room for anything else! LOL!

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Incy Wincy - Glitter/Stickles
Polycraft Monday Challenge - Anything Goes
Stamps R Us Challenge - All Nature
Creative Card Crew - Bloomin' Marvelous
Tuesday Throwdown - Punches (My tag is a punch even though you can't see the top!)
Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Punch it Out (Tag)
Stamptacular - Layer It On
Paper Sundaes #38 - something from your stash (Used Scraps for the sketch and twine)
Stamp, Scrap &Doodle - Anything goes
Catch The Bug - Anything goes .
Glitterbabes - Embossing

Thanks for looking! Have a blessed week!

Humming Along

Humming-Along

Hello everyone!
I had the chance to play this morning just for the fun of it. I had fallen in love with this newest release at Flourishes, and had gone to the release party on SCS. I won one of the trivia games! Yay! So I chose this set and while I was there I bought a couple more! :) So today I chose a sketch from Sketch & Stash 37 and went to work. I stamped with Memento, colored with copics, (still don't have all the right colors) and cut it with SB Deckled Rectangles.I used Bazzill for the base, BasicGrey Sugar Rush & Porcelain for the layers, Neenah for the image. I cut out the hummer and popped him up. I used 1 OLD CB folder (textile but still one of my favorites) and 1 NEW folder - Cassie's Brocade. I kept the layout true to the sketch and didn't add anything because I am enjoying just looking at this pretty image! Didn't want to detract from it!

Have a blessed weekend and see you on Sunday when we bring you another Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge!

I am entering this in the following challenges:

The Cuttlebug Spot - Embossing(textile and cassie's brocade)
Lexi's Creations - something old... the textile EF was one of my first
Shabby Tea Room - summer fun (flowers and humming bird)
Timeless Tuesday - embossing (textile and cassies brocade efs)

Sweet Peas for a Birthday

Hello I have been having a busy week!  I hope yours is going well! Today I'm showing you a card I made for a good  friend to give to his wife for her birthday. He wanted something special for her... feminine and pretty. I used Flourishes Sweet Pea set.  Their Timeless Tuesday Challenge this week is all about you... what you love, what makes you happy.  I love Sweet Peas and have wanted to play with this set for some time now.  The day finally came.  I stamped it three times and popped different blossoms up different amounts, and the entire image is cut out once and layered on to the pretty DP from BasicGrey's Porcelain Pack which I cut out with the Spellbinders Label #5.  I layered that onto Bassill Green Textured CS.  To make it a little more sparkly I painted the flowers with Shimmerz.  Love that stuff!!!  I used my new Martha Stewart Large Lattice Punch, ZVA pearls and ribbon from Papertrey on this easel card that was definitely inspired by one I saw some time ago by Cindy Haffner.  I also made this for the Fussy and Fancy Challenge this week to Dazzle them, and Paper Play's challenge to make a birthday card for someone special.

Thanks so much for looking!  I love knowing you stopped by!  Have a blessed day!
