Framed Holiday Wishes

Framed-Holiday-Wishes

Hello everyone!  I hope you have been enjoying a wonderful week!  I must admit this week has been flying by for us... filled with phone calls, trips to unemployment and Social Security offices, reading volumes on health care plans, medicare part B coverage, what it means to be in the donut hole, financial advisors, and on and on!  My poor hubby has been working so hard to make the milestone of having our insurance covered into retirement but 11 months before that date... laid off!  It has been hard for him and it happened so suddenly that we are finding ourselves with only 10 days to figure out what medical insurance we can pick up for me, what medicare supplements are best for his coverage, and of course trying to figure out what we will actually have to live on!  We are falling into bed at night totally exhausted and then hitting it hard and heavy the next morning.  My creating time has been almost nil and my mojo is lost somewhere, so it's with that that I share this card.  Fortunately I had most of it ready before all this happened, or it might still not have been finished!  LOL!

Anyway... enough of that!  My card is made with this month's Our Daily Bread designs Elegant Oval Frames and the sentiment is from Christmas Door (a set I really really love!)  I stamped the frame with Garden Green and the sentiment with Real Red.  The base is Mark's Finest Papers Kraft, then the cream layer is Papertrey Vintage Cream embossed with a snowflake border from Cuttlebug.  My panels are cut from dp from BasicGrey Nordic Holiday pad, punched at the bottom with an EK Success punch, and then I stitched around each panel.  The ribbon is seam binding tied and I added a sweet little button with some hemp twine.  I hope you like this simple little card!  It's very doable for mass production (well, maybe not the sewing LOL)!

We continue to wade our way through the shock of being jobless, and all the decisions we need to make quickly.... and we really want to thank all of you who have been praying for us!  We feel those prayers and we know God has this all in His hands!  We're praying for wisdom and direction... and we know He is in control!!!  Soooo thankful for that assurance!!!

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Aud Sentiments Challenge - Use any Sentiment (Winter Theme), Charisma Cardz -  Embossing (Heat or Dry),Just For Fun - non-cute - From the Sewing Box or the Bedroom(buttons), Shelly's Images - Anything Goes, Clear It Out! - Use Old Supplies - Trims (my ribbon, twine, CB, blling are all old), Top Tip Tuesday - Layer It, KB Cute Monday - Anything Goes, Lexi's Creations - Just a Sentiment, Make it Monday - always Anything Goes, Paper Playtime -  Sentiments PLUS Buttons and Bows, The Outlawz - Sentiment required - Everything Goes, Christmas Inspirations must be Christmas - Die Cuts or Punches, Stamptacular Sunday - Must use a stamp - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by and letting me know you were here!  Your comments really encourage me!!!

hugs,

Its beautiful Grace. Praying the week ends on an up note. It is difficult sometimes, when faced with a shock like you have had, but that's my hope, nonetheless.

That is a beautiful card! Every time I see a card that uses the sewing machine I wish I had more room for that. Sure would save on adhesive, huh?

I am so sorry to hear about all that you and your husband are going through and will keep you in my prayers!

Hugs...

Oh, Grace, I don't know what to say. How awful, how frightening, and how stressful for you and your husband. You are certainly both in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope you will keep us posted on things. Your card is beautiful, as always - you are blessed with such a talent. Love you dear friend. Hugs and blessings...

Always remember the verse:

Grace, another beautiful card full of color and love....praying for you and your DH. This life has so many challenges and even when we think we have planned the right way - the road takes an unexpected turn. He is walking with you both as you meet these new challenges. ((Hugs))

Grace, your card is gorgeous! I'm glad you had a chance to finish it and share it! I continue to keep you and your DH in my prayers. I am sure it is mind-boggling to deal with all these decisions in such a short period of time (and after such careful planning during the work years). I pray that the path forward is revealed soon and things begin to settle down. Hugs to you...

Grace .... I was so glad that you posted again today! I've had you and your husband on my heart and in my prayers since reading your earlier post about his sudden job loss!

The Lord will strengthen and comfort you through this, and then you and your husband will be used of the Lord to comfort others who go through similar jarring situations. I'm thinking of 2 Corinthians 1:3-7.

Continuing in prayer for you!

i understand how stressful the world has become in our economy. i prayed for you while i was waiting for my husband tonight after i read your blog. It seems like God asks us now, Do you only trust Me in the good times? You say you trust Me, but do you? i know the last few years have been an adjustment, at least in my life that is true and many others. We/I have become so attached to the world and the pleasures of this world. I have had to realized how attached i was to the "life" here. How will we weather the persecution to come? I "cry" over the things that i want, that are all going to be burnt up someday. :) My husband retired a few years ago, i lost my insurance coverage. It is so expensive finding insurance coverage. I understand your concerns and fears. i have had to learn to trust that God will supply what I need, when I need it. So my prayer for you Grace, is that if God so knows the needs of the birds, you who are worth more than they, will not your Heavenly Father take care of you and that you will know the power of His Truth(Word), not the World wisdom. That you would focus on His promises to us.
Prayfully,
Lorrayne

Dear Grace,

Continuing to pray for your and your husband at 10am and 10pm. Hopefully, some of your guests will read this and join me. I lift you up whenever I think of you also. It will all come together. He is Good. He is Faithful. I know you know that with all of your heart. Just keep listening in the still times...with all of the busyness...take time to Be Still.
And, be patient with yourself, please.

This is a beautiful card. At first, I thought it was a needlepoint background! That would have taken so long. It really is a lovely card, and I love the shape the sentiment is on, as well as the sentiment.

He IS Able!

Hi Grace :)

I hope things are getting sorted out for you - we just never know whats round the corner eh? :( For years I dreaded christmas, as my husband was always laid off at that time every couple of years, and it was such a kick in the guts.

You are doing the right thing, facing it all head-on and you will get to the end of it :)

Love your gorgeous card, really exceptional, and I love all the stitched panels.

Thanks so much for playing along at Charisma Cardz this week,

hugs
