ODBD Nov 1 Release Blog Hop!

Snowy-Scene-5

Hello friends!  Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs November Release Blog Hop!  If you got here from Lorelie"s Blog, you are in the right place.  If not you might want to start at the Our Daily Bread designs Blog and start from the beginning.  If you get lost along the way, simply return there where the entire hop is listed with links.

Now, here are the Hop Details:
  • The Hop will run 8am EDT Nov. 1 until 8pm EDT Nov 2.
  • The winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on Nov 3.
  • THREE blessed hoppers will win their CHOICE of ONE FREE SET, and ONE very blessed hopper will win the GRAND PRIZE of their CHOICE OF THREE FREE SETS!
Here is what you have to do to be qualified to win one of these prizes:
  • Hop to each designer’s blog and leave a comment
  • Return to the Our Daily Bread designs blog and leave a comment telling us that you completed the hop, making note if there were any you could not comment on.
  • Answer the question  on the ODBD blog when you leave your comment.
Now Here are my card details:

I made a diorama card.  It was the first thing I envisioned when I saw these sets and couldn't wait to play with them.  I used the Custom Window Die, made for ODBD by Spellbinders, and the "outside" scene called Warm Wishes, and I also used the Crocheted Background for my curtains.

For the front, I cut the window frame out of textured brown card stock scraps, and sponged the edges for dimension.  The diorama itself is 4" x 6".  After cutting and scoring my designer paper (BasicGrey Wassail),  I determined the middle and cut the hole for the window.  I then adhered acetate to the back and using Diamond Glaze I added crystal glitter (MS) to the window panes and let dry. The curtains were cut from some card stock that I had stamped with the Crocheted Background.  I sponged them while still in the die, and again around the edges when removed.

Snowy-scene-detail

The middle layer is made by stamping the image once, masking and stamping another tree and coloring with Prisma Pencils and Copics.  I used more of the glitter on the branches though you can't see it that well... it really glistens in the light!  I then cut out the trees and adhered my middle layer.  I punched an MS border around the top and used the left over part for the border at the bottom.  It was really fun and I encourage you to give it a try!  It folds flat for mailing.  You can find a tutorial for a Diorama card here, (by our wonderful Angie) but be sure to adjust your measurements!

Just as a reminder.... if you missed our release last week of the Praying for a Cure set.... it's a wonderful set that can be used for anyone fighting any illness or other real life challenge.  If you missed my post, here is the card I shared for that release, and this set also is being officially released today!

I know there's much more for you so see, so I'll send you on to the next stop now... hop to the ever so sweet and talented Angie!
hugs,
