An altered container for kitty treats!

kitty-treats-1.1

Hello friends!  I hope you had a wonderful Easter, celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior!  We enjoyed special family time with our kids in TN.  What a blessing it is to be a grandparent!!!  I never knew I could love it this much!!!  We decorated eggs, painted some greenware and played games, and of course, feasted on wonderful home cooking as well!  I have found it so wonderful to see my own daughter growing in the Lord and in her many gifts that God has given her.... and now my grandkids are getting older as well, and are such neat kids!  Anyway..... on to my little project for today...

I have been saving these little containers from Crystal Light (the old style) because they have such great tight fitting lids.  I knew these would be great altered one day.  This idea hit me the minute I saw this month's sets from Our Daily Bread designs

I started by stamping the little paw prints from the Paw Prints set diagonally across one sheet of some blue copy paper I have had for a while, as I wanted it to be very pliable. This paper is heavier than your every day cheap copy paper, but not as stiff as great quality card stock either.  I used Versafine ink for a good clear imprint.

From there I cut and adhered it to the container, overlapping a little bit.  I then decorated the container with a couple punched borders, using Martha Stewart punches.  I stamped the image from the Cat Sympathy set and colored it with Copics, then cut with Spellbinders Classic Circles, and cut my matting from SB Picot Edge Circles. For the top of the lid, I stamped the large paw print from the Paw Prints set and cut with SB Classic Circles and Scalloped Circles.

So here is the finished container with 2 bags of treats in it.  I think it would hold more than 3, possibly 4!  Ricky certainly loves his new treat container!!!  LOL!  I love that it has a tight fitting lid that he can't open!!!  He can actually get up into the cabinet and open these bags.... so this was a great solution for me!!! LOL!  Think how cute this would also be as a pencil holder or other tool container in the craft room of your favorite pet-loving crafter!

I hope you enjoyed my fun little project and are inspired to create something other than a card!  Have a wonderful week!!!

I am submitting this to the following challenges:
GingerloftAnything but a Card, Robyn`s FetishAnything Goes,  The Crafty Pad - Just Die-delicious (use dies), Catch The Bug -  April Anything goes, Sweet Stampin - Dies and/or Doodles, A Gem of a Challenge - #43 Photo Inspiration (I used the colors of the Topaz stone)
