Welcome to the July Release!

Hello friends!  Welcome to the July Release!!!

We are excited about this release, and if you are too, then you want to read on to see how you might win some ODBD stamps!

Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until July 2, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments on the Designers Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on July 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

For the card above, I used the Home Sweet Home set for my sentiment.  I used the new ODBD Custom Window  Dies, Shutter and Awning Dies, and Flower Box Fillers.  I also used Antique Labels and Border Die set to cut the sentiment with, and Fancy Foliage.  I used the  Butterfly and Bugs  stamp to stamp and heat emboss the butterfly on vellum, and cut it with the ODBD Custom Butterfly Dies & Bugs Die.  The design paper is the ODBD Shabby Rose Paper Collection.

I wanted a shabby chic feel so the soft Shabby rose paper was the perfect starting point. I distressed it with my scissors and Distress Ink in Antique Linen.  I used 140 lb Neenah Solar White for my base and all the die cuts, sponging them with Antique Linen.  To color the flowers and leaves I simply sponged them with distress inks.  I layered my window up with a couple of cuts to give dimension, and I added some soft pink vellum behind the panes.  I just LOVE the little flower box fillers!  They emboss beautifully and really look so perky in any scene you want to add them to!  I added some white lace to the bottom and adhered the sentiment to that with a foam dimensional tape. I added a could little whisps of gauze to my corner bouquets and decided that was enough.  I love the shabby feel.  It reminds me of my Grandmother's farm house!

My next card is totally different.  I used a tent fold for my card, and the ODBD Chalkboard Collection and Blushing Rose Collection for my design paper, on a base of Neenah Solar White.

I used two new sets for this card: Fragrance and Blossom.
I stamped the image from  Fragrance set twice, colored with Copics, and fussy cut them.  I used the ODBD Custom Layered Lacy Squares to cut my window and sentiment panel.  I put the sentiment from Blossom on the inside of the card with foam dimensionals so that when the card is closed it peeks through the window a bit.

The card is 4 3/4" square.  To make it you simply cut your card the size you want it, and then cut another piece of card stock the width of the card base x 4" high.  You score the 4" piece at 1", 2" and 3" and fold in a mountain/valley fold.  You adhere it to the inside of the card with the two cut edges facing up and the middle fold facing up.  (The 2 side "valley" folds face down).  You can see a tutorial for this fold HERE

To recap, here are the new ODBD products used today:

The tent card with the black and white background and flowers is outstanding. Very dramatic..very rich. Plus, I like that it's not the conventional A-2 card.
