MMSC34 Confirmed

Hello everyone!  It's New Years Eve and I FINALLY got a few minutes to play in my stamp room!  This has been quite the week for me but I'm happy to say I got to make a card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge this week.... and considering that I was just honored by being asked to be their Guest Diva for January...(Whoo Hoo!)   I just HAD to play!  Now this is the quickest card I've made in a long time!  It went together so quickly!  It was a fun challenge.

I am giving you another sneak peek at the January release from Our Daily Bread designs called Confirmation.  I stamped the image on Papertrey Vintage Cream with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain, and sponged.  I used a QuicKutz embossing folder for my background, used a Sizzix leafy vine and bird die cut, and cut the bird once in chocolate and once in cream, then offset just slightly for a shadow effect.  I ran my corners through the big shot with the Cuttlebug Textile folder and added pearls.  CAS and quick!!!  It's all I had time for tonight but I am in need of masculine mailable cards, so this should help  fill the need!

Please stop by tomorrow morning, 8am EST for the Our Daily Bread designs Blog Hop!  There will be great prizes.... yes... several of them!!!!  You won't want to miss all the inspiration the Design Team will have for you either!

Thanks for stopping by and I sincerely hope you have a most blessed New Year!

All Things Bright and Beautiful

Hello everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!  I certainly did!  I was so excited to be able to get to play in a couple of challenges today as well!  This is for Inspiration Challenge 212 on SCS and also for MMSC33.

I used this cute rug for my inspiration from Posh Tots.  My daisyd's designer paper immediately came to mind.  This site had the cutest kids things, so I decided to give you a sneak peek at a new Our Daily Bread designs set to be released Jan. 1 called "Noah's Ark".  It has lots of different possibilities in how you use it so be sure to check back on Jan 1 for the Our Daily Bread designs blog hop, when three lucky hoppers will have the chance to win this set or another set of their choice!

I used the sentiment from Noah's Ark, stamped in Our Daily Bread designs Rasberry Ink on Papertrey White cs.  My base is Bazzill and the dp is daisyd's.  I used a QuicKutz Flourish frame die cut for my elements to create a square around the sentiment panel to fit the sketch, and the sentiment itself is cut with a Spellbinders Label #3.  I added ZVA Creative pearl flourishes, K&Co Paper Ribbons, and MS butterfly punch outs from the same paper.

Thanks so much for looking!  See you at the Hop on Jan 1!!!

Quiet Waters in Winter

Hello everyone!
I hope you all are doing well and you who make all your cards are getting close to finished up!  I have to admit that I am still behind and with all the other things going on lately I have to admit I might not get them all out on time.  That said, it's the thought that counts and I know my loved ones will understand!

Today is Tuesday, so it's the day Our Daily Bread designs focuses on one of the Design Team to spend time with.  We had one "vacant" spot so I thought I'd show you a card I made as a Christmas card for my Mother and Father in law.  Kelley sent the whole Design Team these Flower Soft Globes and cards with our December stamps... just to play around with.  I immediately thought of the past set called Quiet Waters.

I water colored the image which was stamped with Archival Jet Black on H2O paper. After water coloring I added Diamond Glaze to the stream, giving it a glossy icy effect, and while still wet I added fine glitter.  I added in Polar White Flower Soft to some of the grasses that are sticking up through the snow, and I painted the snow with Angel's Wings Shimmerz.  I then added fine glitter to the globe and inserted it into the precut card.  The card itself is a tri-fold... so it's so easy to use!  You insert the globe in the precut oval, add your design behind it.  I taped it all around to seal, then you fold a third panel over that and adhere so the back of the globe is covered.  Your sentiment then goes on the inside of the card as usual.  So easy and such a nice way to make a big impact on a special card.  To mail this card I used an old card box from {horror of horror} a store bought box of cards. LOL!

I used a sentiment from the Dec. set "His Gift".  I stamped that in VersaMark and then in Our Daily Bread designs Steel Blue Ink and clear embossed.  I cut that panel and sponged lightly with Steel Blue around the edges.  The frame it is on is a Spell Binder's Fancy Tag which I elongated by running through the Big Shot part way and backing out, then running through from the other side and again pulling back.  I used The Paper Studio brushed silver for the frame and the Designer Paper for this card is Moment Jack Frost.  I used the small snowflake from the Dec. ODBD set Peace & Joy, embossing the same as the sentiment, then cut out with my Spellbinder's Create a Flake die cut.  I layered them over a Martha Stewart snowflake punch in glossy white and added some bling and flourishes from an EK Success punch.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I pray your Christmas week is filled with happy moments, wonderful memories, and most especially time spent thanking God for His most precious gift... that of His son Jesus, who paid the price for our sins so that we could be reconciled to Him!  There is no greater gift... and in this time of high charge card balances, high stress, rushed time... THIS gift is totally free!  All you have to do is accept it!  He offers it to each one!

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."
Matt. 7:7-8

Be blessed this Christmas!

The Gift

Hello everyone! Happy Monday!

Here is a card I made using Our Daily Bread design's new Dec. release, The Gift, designed by Dina Kowal. The detailing on this big poinsettia is gorgeous! It's a great stamp alone image, but also looks great colored, glimmered up, and any other way you can think of presenting it.

This card is on a base of Cranberry Crisp, layerd with Bazzill textured caramel, then The Paper Studio textured olive designer paper. The image is stamped with Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla, ever so lightly watercolored with inks and sponged around the edges with chocolate chip. The sheer ribbon is from my stash. I used a piercing template from Ornare and added some liquid pearls and bling from BasicGrey. Fast and easy!

I hope in the busyness of the season you are taking time to ponder the wonder of the Gift God gave us in His one and only Son, who humbled Himself and came to this earth as a baby and lived among us, being rejected by those He loved, and eventually put on a cross to die.... to pay the penalty of our sins so that we could be reconciled to Him and spend eternity in heaven with Him when this life is over. There is no greater gift than this! I hope you can bask in the wonder of it all, and be filled with the Joy and Peace that only He can give!

Have a blessed day!

MMSC31 - a Gift set for Christmas

Hello everyone!  I hope you are having a great week!

I made this set for this week's Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.

We were to use the sketch but also make an ornament or other gift idea to go with it.  I made an ornament using the same sketch.  The hardest part of this project was getting a good photo.  We have been having rain and clouds and all the sparkle on this set was hard to capture, but the sun "peeked" out a little bit today and I grabbed the camera!  I hope you can see the sparkle a little at least!

I used the Dec. release Our Daily Bread designs set Peace and Joy for my Snowflakes.  I stamped them in VersaMark and then Chocolate Chip, onto a soft blue paper from Memory Box dewfrost pack and heat embossed with Kaleidoscope EP.  I cut the large snowflake out with a Spellbinder's Label 3, and the small flake used to pop up the design with SB Create a Flake. I used Memory Box dewfrost designer paper for the sketch elements and mounted them on a Papertrey dark chocolate base.  I used Spellbinders the Fleu-de-lis Pendant cut twice for both the card and ornament and popped up in an offset pattern.  They are glittered with dazzling diamonds and are bright white, giving a little contrast to the soft blue panel the image is stamped on.  The ribbon is from M's and also wraps the paper mache ornament on the side.  The ornament is double sided, so both sides are equally pretty.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you have a blessed week!

The Indescribable Gift

Hello everyone!  Happy Monday and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

Here is a card I made Sat. for the Inspiration Challenge over on SCS.  We were to find our inspiration from the Charm Lady Boutique.  There were several that I drew inspiration from including a vintage charm with script in the background.  I used the new Our Daily Bread designs Dec. release set "His Gift" designed by Dina Kowal.  This was so easy and quick to make because the image is so beautiful just as it stamps... it does not need to be colored to be beautiful!  I stamped on very vanilla with chocolate chip ink and matted with very vanilla, deep chocolate by Papertrey and the textured chocolate designer paper is The Paper Studio.   I added some Spellbinder's flourishes in brushed gold scraps and a tiny bow and a few half beads and that was it!  Easy to reproduce in number and what a wonderful Scripture to remind us all of the true meaning of Christmas!

I hope you have a fabulous week!  God bless!

A single layer of snowflakes

Hello everyone!  Happy Friday!  I hope your weekend will be wonderful!

I made this card for today's limited supply challenge on SCS, which was to only use white cs, no designer paper, only white or clear embellishments, and only one color of ink, plus limit the layers.  I combined it with this week's Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge, which was to use a gift on our card.  Well.... my "gift" is the sentiment. Truly this is the greatest gift of all... the gift of God's Son, which we celebrate on Dec. 25th but  rejoice over  all year long, because truly the gift is indescribable!  When I think that the Creator of the Universe loved us so much that He sent His Son... perfect and sinless to pay the price for our sin so that we could be reconciled to Him and live in relationship with Him, and eventually spend eternity with Him in heaven, I am truly awestruck!

I used two Newly Released Our Daily Bread designs sets: "Peace and Joy" for the big snowflake image and "His Gift" for the sentiment.  I have wanted to make a window card with this image since I saw it, so today with my limited layers was the day!  I placed the largest die cut snowflake from Spellbinder's Create A Flake where I wanted my window and ran it through the Big Shot.  I embossed the large snowflake and centered on the inside of the card right behind and lined up with the die cut opening.  When the card is closed, the stamped image actually fits well in the cut out.  I embossed the sentiment and tucked it in to the snowflake cut out.  It is removable as a bookmark or even a verse to put on your frig.

I used many die cut snowflakes that I glittered with Dazzling Diamonds for the front, sponged the matting for the inside snowflake with Brilliance Silver and added a snowflake ribbon by Make it Christmas.

On the inside I have my embossed snowflake which I edged with Silver Brilliance Ink, and then I matted that on a white square I had sponged with the same ink to give a little definition.

How about that!!! I made a card that really is ONE single Layer!!! I need to mark this date! LOL!  Most of you know I'm not comfortable without several layers, but this has it's own charm.

Thanks for looking and have a blessed weekend!

MMSC30 Angelic Greetings

Hello everyone!  I hope you are having a great week!

I made this card for MMSC30 and also for Flutter by Wednesday.
My image is one I picked up at a yard sale and there are no markings on it so I don't know who made it.  I embossed it in silver and cut with a Spellbinders Label 6 and sponged with Soft Sky.  I added two of the smaller elements from the Spellbinders Hearts Pendant group and made my frame with them.  My snowflakes are Spellbinders Create a Flake and the smallest one is stamped with the smaller snowflake in the new Dec. release set from Our Daily Bread Designs, Peace and Joy.  I used a Martha Stewart punch for my matting and the designer paper is S.E.I. and it's all on a base of Metallic by The Paper Co.  I used the negative cut outs from my edge punch and the hearts to create the little snowflake elements.

I hope you like this quick card today... short and sweet!

Have a blessed day!  Thanks for looking!

Blog Hop ~ Our Daily Bread designs December release and PRIZES!H

Peace and Joy Gift Set

Hello everyone!  Can you believe it?  It's December!  Christmas is just around the corner and Our Daily Bread designs is going to help you get the last of your Christmas cards done with two more great sets and lots of wonderful sentiments and verses! Today is the release of these new sets and to celebrate we have a blog hop for you to enjoy, be inspired by, and have a chance to WIN ONE Set of  your choice!!!

If you arrived here from Dawn's Blog, you are in the right place.  If you happened on my blog, you will want to go to the Our Daily Bread designs Blog and start the hop from there.  You will be collecting secret words from each of the design team's blogs, leaving a comment for each designer,  returning to the Our Daily Bread designs blog, leaving a message that says you have visited each designer and left a comment, then you will email me at the link given there, giving me the  list of the designers names with their secret words.  You will want to collect these in order because they spell out a special message to you from us!  All the designer's will be listed on the ODBD blog with links, so if you get lost along the way, simply return there for the next link.  To keep track of the names of each designer, it might be easiest to just copy the list right from the ODBD blog and then as you collect the secret words you can just fill them in next to the designer's name.  You have until 8:00 PM EST Dec 2 to complete the requirements!  So quick and easy... who wouldn't want to try?  This month Kelley, the owner of Our Daily Bread designs has generously offered TWO prizes.... so TWO lucky hoppers will be chosen by random to receive the set of THEIR choice!!! How fun is that?!!

Also, just a reminder that starting in January, Our Daily Bread designs will be hosting a monthly Design Team Challenge, and you all are invited to play along!  There will be awards and PRIZES... so lots of fun and extra chances to win coming up in the new year!!!

Now on to my projects using one of the new release sets, Peace and Joy.

This card was made using a Trapeze Template.  It is  a brass template with piercing holes and there were pattern books available giving you lots of different options for patterns to "sew" and bead if desired.  I do not have and cannot find the book... so I cased an idea by Beverly Terry who owns Terryfic Times, where I bought the template. I just had to figure out a sizing that worked for me.  This is what the template looks like:
I cut a square of paper the size of the template, pierced the holes I wanted to use and strung my beads on silver thread.  After my pattern was made I cut the tiny supports, leaving just the outter border and the inner square, held together by the beads.  It is a fun way to pack a wow factor into a card.  For my card itself I cut out the "window" so that you could see through the beaded part to the inside and made a card within a card so that the pretty green background and snowflake image from the ODBD set, Peace and Joy would show through, but when you lift that panel, there is the sentiment inside that.  The snowflakes are stamped in VersaMark and embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Silver embossing powder.  The large one is hand cut, the small one is actually stamped on a Spellbinder's Die Cut (Create a Flake) sent to me by my great friend Chris. Thank you Chris!!!  The white one is covered in Dazzling Diamonds, not so visible on this dark day.

Here are the insides of the card... the lift up flap and inside that, the message:

...And here are the Ornament and Candle

I made a gift set using these images.... so perfect for an inexpensive but special gift that says you care!  The ornament has the large snowflake stamped on Acetate and embossed in silver and then inserted into the glass ornament.  On the outside I added another white SB die cut with the small snowflake embossed on it and added some bling from Memory Box.  A silver ribbon and fibers finish it off. I used an assortment of die cuts from Spellbinders and Sizzix to layer my snowflakes on the candle, then mounted them on a Spellbinder's Label 6 which I sponged with Olive Ink from Our Daily Bread designs.  The belly band is made with a Martha Stewart edge punch, a Cuttlebug embossed snowflake edge and some light sponging.
