Sneak Peek: Layers of Color Botanical Swirl Night Light Cover

Hello everyone!
Today I have another sneak peek for you one of the new Art Stencils being released Mon. June 14th by Layers of Color! We on the design team have been having so much fun playing with these stencils, as they are so fun and versatile!
This time, I have a sample to show you two ways. I altered this night light shade by first making a pattern of the shade itself, then stenciling it using the Botanical Swirls stencil again. It was so easy to do! I used Georgia Pacicfic whte card stock and it had all the flexibility I needed to wrap the shade. The original shade had an edging of seam binding on it, so I peeled that back, tucked my new shade cover inside, glued the seam binding back down and to give just a little more interest, I added this May Arts mesh ribbon in green. I first did just the shade alone, hoping to show more of the stencil, and then I added the flower and flourishes in shades of brown and copper because my newly finished bathroom in the basement is green and brown, with antique bronze fixtures, so I wanted to bring in some of those brown tones. I decided to show the shade as it was before I added the flowers so you could see the simpler version, and get a good look at the stencil.

So there you have it.... which way do you like it better?

Sneak Peek: Layers of Color Botanical Swirls Art Stencil

Hello everyone!
Today I have another sneak peek for you and a couple of the new Art Stencils being released Mon. June 14th by Layers of Color! I have to tell you we on the design team have been having so much fun playing with these stencils, as they are so fun and versatile!

This birdhouse ornament was purchased from Michael's as a plain cardboard ornament. I painted it with Acrylic paint and then, used the Layers of Color Art Stencil "Botanical Swirls" and T Holtz distress Ink to stencil in the greenery on the house.

The flexibility of the stencils allows you to stencil things that you could not stamp because of space. I just moved the stencil around until I found a part of the pattern that I wanted on each side of this ornament and stenciled. I then decorated the bird house using the Layers of Color Art Stamp sets "Backyard Birds" and "Nature Walk" for the flowers. I colored with Copics, cut out and popped up on dimensionals. For an organic feel I tied on some raffia at the top. This was so simple.

As a bird lover, I collect bird houses and chickadees so I just had to try this! Ornaments are not just for Christmas you know! :) (Don't know if you were wondering...but the pretty swirled pattern on the paper under my birdhouse is another sneak peek at some dp I made using another of these new Art Stencils... Natural Flourish. Such a quick and easy way to have some great dp ready to go!)

DON'T FORGET.... Monday, June 14th will be the RELEASE PARTY for these art stencils! From now until June 14th you can sign up to win the complete release of all 7 Art Stencils! Visit the Layers of Color Blog to sign up NOW!

Sneak Peek of Layers of Color Art Stencil

Hello everyone!
Today I have another sneak peek for you! This is a simple jar candle I purchased for $3.00 from ACMoore, then I used the Layers Of Color Art Stencil, Delicious Dots which will be released on June 14th to decorate it! This was such a simple project but it really made the candle so much prettier for a gift! I used Stazon White Ink and sponged around the jar with it. Because the stencils are flexible it's very easy to do curved items, and as you know, that's NOT true of stamps! For the tag I used the Layers of Color Art Stamps set "Dotted Delights" and stamped the bird directly on my K&Co designer paper and cut out. Punched out the tag, popped up the bird and tied on to my swiss dotted sheer ribbon with a pink string. I added three little ZVA Creative flowers to the bow and done. Super quick, super easy, but I think it makes a pretty little gift!

I will be giving away some of the soon to be released stencils here on my blog during the blog hop on June 14th, and then on a surprise day after that, so be sure to check back often!

Also, there is a drawing going on now at the Layers of Color website for the ENTIRE release of LOC Art Stencils! You can click on the link in this post or the one in my upper right side bar to go sign up! The winner will be announced during the Release Party on June 14th!

In the meantime, all the designers have more sneak peeks for you, so check out the team and be inspired!

I am adding this to the following challenges:

Have a delightful day!

Layers of Color Sneak Peek: Stencils

Today I have another sneak peek for you of one of the Summer Releases by Layers of Color -- ART STENCILS!! These wonderful stencils are so fun to play with and can be used on cards, gift bags, candles, walls, wood, fabric... you name it! I think I have contemplated stenciling everything in my house!!! LOL!

The Design Team will be showing you peeks over these next couple of weeks leading up to the Release Party on June 14th! Also, we will have a Drawing to win all 7 new art stencils at the Layers of Color blog, which will begin on June 7th! Be sure to pop on over there and see more inspiration, and sign up for the drawing !!! Also, please visit the rest of the Design Team for more inspiration over the next 2 weeks!

For this project, I used the Vintage Medallion Art Stencil again and thanks to Nina Bracket's great inspiration, I embossed it in my Cuttlebug. I then lightly sponged Bordering Blue on it, careful to just hit the high spots. I wanted the bg part of this pattern to remain white kind of like a doily. I then took a heart shaped paper doily, gathered it up at the point and made it the "wrap" for my little bouquet of posies. I tied up the bottom part with May Arts sheer ribbon and added some ZVA Creative pearls. I used a couple of CB corner cut outs and put this on a mat of Bazzill, on a white linen base. I made this for the Shabby Tearoom challenge to use hearts. Now you may not recognize the doily as a heart any more... but it is! :) Just to be sure it qualified I also added a double heart charm that was a RAK from my sweet DT Sister, America. Thanks for looking and I hope you are catching some of the excitement the Layers of Color DT has for these Stencils! Stay tuned because there's much more coming! :)

It is True! The Lord has Risen!

Hello everyone!
Just a quick post today, but I wanted to give you one more sneak peek at one of the sets being released April 1 at Our Daily Bread designs!  The floral on this card is from a set called Mom.  It's beautiful!  There are 4 fabulous sets coming tomorrow so don't forget to stop by the ODBD blog to have a chance to win some ODBD cash!!!

This card was made for this week's Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge to pop it up, based on Is. 40:31
"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

The challenge was to mount it up as in paper tole, not just add one layer.  I stamped the largest flower 3 times and popped up various parts for the paper tole effect.

I also used Cross of Christ and The Lord has Risen for this card, both from ODBD.  The DP is  SEI Claire, image is colored with Copics, and I used a SB Frame that I cut down to fit and the SB Label 2 to cut the image panel.  Stickles and ZVA Creative pearls finish it off.

As you look forward to your Easter celebration, I hope your hearts and minds are focused on just what was accomplished for us on that cross!  Ponder the price the Savior paid, and how much He must value each one of us to do that for us!  Have a blessed Easter!

A Sneak Peek in the Rain!

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday! I decided to play along today in the SCS Color Challenge: Black, Kraft and Cameo Coral. I had fun making this card as I am using some brand new toys from Our Daily Bread designs. There are three absolutely gorgeous sets to be released Nov. 1 and there will be a blog hop and the chance for you to win the Entire Release! So please check out the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog on Nov 1 and good luck!

So today I am so sorry my photo is so bad. In reality this card has lots more color contrast and pop than shows in my photo, but as is so often the case with glimmery cards on rainy days, you just can't capture the glimmer. In any case, here is what I did:

I started with a Kraft tag and with VersaMark Dazzle Champagne, I stamped the sheet music from Amazing Grace the Hymn. Then I lightly sponged on cocoa pastels to pop it out a bit. Then I stamped just the corners of the Poinsettia Corner stamp from the soon to be released set "Luke 2:11" in T Holtz Distress Ink. I sponged all around the tag with various T Holtz inks. I then stamped the Scripture from "Christmas Blessinge" with Stampabilities Black Pigment Ink and clear embossed. My poinsettias are also stamped with Stampabilities Black Pigment Ink on Watercolor paper and clear embossed, then water colored with SU! Markers and cut out. The set actually has lots of gorgeous scrolly vines and leaves that make a gorgeous corner treatment, but I cut a lot of that off for this more vintage feeling card. My base is Papertrey, then there is a layer of SU! Kraft, then the DP is from Memory Box Spiceberry. Everything... all layers and even the lace is sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Suede Between the black embossing and the glimmer mist, there is a pretty glimmer to this card. Perhaps Thurs. when the sun is supposed to come out I can get a better photo.

I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek and I hope you will be back on Nov 1 to hop along for a chance to win the entire new release!!! See you at Our Daily Bread Designs' Brand New Blog!

An Oct. Our Daily Bread Designs Sneak Peek

So... what are the hardest cards we gals have to make???? Most of us would answer the same thing... Sympathy and Masculine! Well.... not any more girls!!! Our Daily Bread designs is going to be releasing three new sets on Oct. 1 that will make either of those card types much easier to make!

Today I'm showing you a sample of a set called "With Heartfelt Sympathy". I love the versatility of these sets! The sentiment I chose could be for a sympathy card, but also for anyone who is going through a rough patch. The set has these wonderful Cat Tails and the Dragonfly you see, and those images could be perfect for a fall card, a guy card, or a sympathy card... or just a nature card for anyone!!!

I used the MMSC20 for my layout. These Midnight Madness Sketches are among my favorites to do each week! They are just a step up from the norm, and I love them! The panel on the left is an embossing/stenciling template I had by Dreamweaver.. I ran it through my Big Shot for the texture, then sponged it with Colorbox Chalk Ink in Creamy Brown and Olive Pastel.

I stamped my Cat Tails in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored the images plus some background with Prismapencils, blending with OFMS and blending stumps. After that I heavily sponged with T Holtz Distress Inks.

My card base is Very Vanilla, topped with a deep chocolate cs from my stash, then a textured olive cs also unknown. The DP is from The First Blush pack by Prima. I used my Spell Binders Label 4 to cut out the sentiment and sponged that panel as well. I ran my Chocolate Chip marker along the edges of all my panels before mounting them. I used my slot punch to punch the holes for the ribbon, and the ribbon is from Papertrey. The fibers are from The Paper Studio, and the antique brass embellishments were from Hobby Lobby. The left hand panel is popped up on dimensionals.

You don't want to miss these new sets when they release on Oct 1!!! All the girls in the Bread Basket will be doing a little blog hop on Oct 1.... and there will be PRIZES so be sure to check back here and also check the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog for all the details!!! Don't miss out!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

July Our Daily Bread Sneak Peek

Hello everyone!

I'm so excited to be bringing you my first Sneak Peek at one of the Five New Sets being released by Our Daily Bread Designs beginning July 1st! You are going to love these sets!!! This set is called "Let us begin".

I used a base of Sahara Sand (which I stamped lightly in VersaMark with a Canvas BG stamp) , then layered Georgia Pacific White and then a textured Silver paper.. My Lotus corner image is heat embossed in silver on GPW, which is then sponged lightly with Sahara Sand and matted on another layer of GPW. The sentiment is stamped on GPW, which I cut with my square Nestie and left in the frame, embossed in silver and then more heavily sponged in Sahara Sand for a marble effect. I love the emboss resist technique... especially with these natural tones. When I removed my Nestie frame I had the white matting all done for me. For my flowers... I stamped the left one three times, the right one twice. I cut them out and popped up closer parts for depth. The scrolls are QuicKutz and are cut from Sahara Sand stamped with Canvas, and the mat for my Lotus image panel is punched at the bottom with an EK Success Punch. The ribbon is a shimmery silver edged sheer and the little charm says "made with love"... which I though was appropriate for Mother Teresa.

You have got to check out the whole design team as we all give you sneak peeks this week... these new sets are just incredible!!! The links are in my left side bar... check them out!!! Be sure to be here on July 1st! That's all I can say for now... but you won't want to miss it!!! :)
