Bind It All CD Book

 Hello everyone!
I have been having internet issues and have had tons of trouble keeping my connection, so my commenting, posting and everything has been put on hold for a bit here!!!

Today I wanted to show you a little gift I made for a friend for her birthday.  This is a CD book.  I know she has a very high end camera and takes great photos, so I thought a pretty place to keep her photos might be fun.

I  covered some chip board with  EK Success DP on the outside and inside covers.  I bound it with 3/4" O Wires, and used my Zutter Bind It All.  I made a little tag using a sentiment from Our Daily Bread designs Friendship set.    I added some ZVA Creative pearls and some Prima flowers, ribbon from my stash and the Zutter Heart Closure.

On the inside I added a little pocket with a paper I lined so she can list what is on each CD.  The CD pockets themselves came from a local fun store that sells a little of everything.

I am entering this in:
Cupcake Challenge - Friends

Gingersnap Color Challenge - Use 3 colors you love (pink, green, and tan)
Totally Gorgeous - Flower power
Lexi's Creations - Anything Goes
Incy Wincy - Touchy Feely
Practical Scrappers - Stamps

Footprints in the Sand

Feel free to click on the image to enlarge it and be able to read this inspirational poem!

Hello everyone!  I hope your week is going well!  I was excited to be able to play in several challenges with this card!  I used the Midnight Madness Sketch #41, and  Our Daily Bread Designs Stamping in Time#3 , as well as Corrosive Challenge (sew it up), Sophisticat (sewing), OCC (something old from your stash) and this week's Cuttlebug Challenge (loads of sewing).
Betty challenged us to use ODBD Footprints in the Sand set and the challenge was to find a way to use buttons with it.  I started out with the Midnight Madness Sketch reversed, using elements of the Footprints background stamp for the panels on either side of the sentiment. I stamped them with River Rock onto Papertrey Vintage Cream  CS, and then sponged heavily with T Holtz Scattered Straw, Color Box Creamy Brown Chalk Ink, and True Thyme.  I stamped the poem with True Thyme and tore my edges, sponging lightly around the edges.  I tried to use regular buttons as the sketch and Betty's challenge both called for, and they just did not look right, so I made buttons out of shells and sewed them on with hemp twine.  My base is True Thyme,( the something old in my stash), then a unknown yellow marbled cs, also old from my stash.  I added fancy birds feet stitching up the two sides as well as I used my Cuttlebug edge ef in the upper left and lower right corners.  Inside I stamped lightly the background stamp and left room for writing my message.  I struggled with finding buttons for this, but once I poked holes in my shells and used the shell beads I had in my stash... I finally felt like it flowed.

Thanks for looking.... and be blessed as you read the words of this wonderful poem.  Remember, He loves you and will carry you through the difficult times... giving you just what you need when you need it if you will allow Him to!  Be blessed by that knowledge!

Sweet Peas for a Birthday

Hello I have been having a busy week!  I hope yours is going well! Today I'm showing you a card I made for a good  friend to give to his wife for her birthday. He wanted something special for her... feminine and pretty. I used Flourishes Sweet Pea set.  Their Timeless Tuesday Challenge this week is all about you... what you love, what makes you happy.  I love Sweet Peas and have wanted to play with this set for some time now.  The day finally came.  I stamped it three times and popped different blossoms up different amounts, and the entire image is cut out once and layered on to the pretty DP from BasicGrey's Porcelain Pack which I cut out with the Spellbinders Label #5.  I layered that onto Bassill Green Textured CS.  To make it a little more sparkly I painted the flowers with Shimmerz.  Love that stuff!!!  I used my new Martha Stewart Large Lattice Punch, ZVA pearls and ribbon from Papertrey on this easel card that was definitely inspired by one I saw some time ago by Cindy Haffner.  I also made this for the Fussy and Fancy Challenge this week to Dazzle them, and Paper Play's challenge to make a birthday card for someone special.

Thanks so much for looking!  I love knowing you stopped by!  Have a blessed day!

You're Always in my Heart

Hello everyone!  We're enjoying another snowy weekend and it's just beautiful out!  I've been taking pictures of the birds at the feeder and huddled together on the snow ladened tree branches!  Then I looked at the IC on SCS and the Etsy sit Geninne's Art Store was all about birds. I used many of the birds for inspiration but I loved the red berries on this on e(#10on this pg.).  I decided to make a masculine gift box for my hubby for Valentines Day, using this Able Gable Box template from Leigh Ann Baird.  I also used the Chickadee stamp from the Our Daily Bread designs new release, You Will Find Refuge.  I paired that with a Studio G sentiment and a hand written tag.  The dp is from a new K&Co pad and the base is Kraft, sponged on all panels with THoltz Walnut Stain Ink.  I colored the bird just a tad with Prisma Pencils.  These new images are so easy to color!  I just love them all!  This also fits this week's Our Daily Bread designs  Shining the Light Challenge #2, to include red or pink and bling on your creation.  Since this is a masculine gift, I had to keep the bling down, but used the red charm and brad.  I hope that counts.  I also used the household item twine, thus qualifying for the Saturday Spotlight Challenge.  Inside this box are my hubby's favorite candies... Lindt Dark Chocolate Truffles.  Yum!

Thanks for looking and have a blessed weekend!

Two Hearts become One

Hello everyone! This card was made for several challenges!  Hope I remembered everything!  I used the Midnight Madness Sketch 40 and the recipe from  Stampin Sisters in Christ 25, which was based on Mark 10:7-9  " 7. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife.  8. and the two will become one flesh.  So they are no longer two but one.  9. Therefore what God has joined together , let no man separate." NASB

The challenge was that whatever we used, we had to use two of... like if we used designer paper, we were to use two... ribbons?  Use two.  Not as easy as it sounds!

I used 2 designer papers, 2 ribbons, 2 embossing folders, 2 mats, 2 hearts in my image, 2 kinds of stitches... the only thing I used 1 of is the silver heart brad at the top, and that represents the ONE that the 2 have become.  After almost 39 years of marriage I must say you do even start to think as one!  Even when we go to a restaurant we usually end up ordering the same thing!  :)  It is my hope that you can enjoy this kind of union... there's nothing much better!

Anyway... my card is on a base of very vanilla, layered with My Mind's Eye Bella Rose and topped with K&Co Madeline.  My image and matting is all VV and I used 2 Sizzix embossing folders.  The edges of all layers are sponged with Creamy Caramel, and there is zig zag stitching around 3 sides, and straight stitching across the top.  I used a Fiskar punch to create the holes to thread my first ribbon through.  I topped it with a sheer satin edged vanilla ribbon bow.  My image is from Our Daily Bread designs and is called Love One Another.  It is colored with Prisma Pencils and then Shimmerz.  I can't get a good photo of the shimmer but it's there!

I am also entering this in to the following challenges:
Crazy4Challenges - Valentines
Pile It On -  To the one you love..Valentines
Double Dutch Challenge -Be My Valentine
 Raise the Bar: hearts
Creative Belli: Ribbon

Color Challenge: Dusty Shadow Chips

Hello everyone!  I hope your week is off to a wonderful start!  When Betty first contacted me and asked me to make a sample for her color challenge on SCS... I was honored, but when I heard the colors I thought yikes!  This is going to be tough!  Well... I actually like what I ended up with, although I'm quite sure I would never have thought of it~  I do not have Dusty Durango so I used a Rusty Bazzil paper that I think comes close.  The Chocolate Chip and Sage Shadow are among my favorite color combos, so I just had to work in that rusty dusty color!  I should have just taken pictures of my floors because THEY are dusty! LOL!  My hubby was sanding the stairs this weekend and boy what a mess!  Anyway... on with my card...
I made another easel card, and therefore can enter Flourishes FTTC53 as well.  Once I made one I found them addictive!  My friend and DT sister Chris has inspired me so much with all of her beautiful creations I have taken the leap and am in love with this layout!  So I started with a base of Chocolate Chip, layered Sage Shadow, my Rusty Bazzill, and then the dp is from The Paper Studio.

My image is the newly released Our Daily Bread designs set, Nest, and the sentiment is from a coordinating set, You Will Find Refuge. I stamped my image on Papertrey Cream and colored with Copics.  I cut the image with a Spellbinders Label #3, then masked the image and spritzed the background with the airbrush while still in the die, using BG000, BG10 and a touch of BG72.  The sentiment is stamped in Chocolate Chip and then I  masked the edges, and spritzed with the Airbrush, using BG10 and BG72. I cut a SB Fancy Tag, embossed then cut in half so I could stretch it to fit the verse.

For my nest, I stole one of my cat's toys (shame)...I  took a little piece of a feather!  I took little bitty pieces of it and glued it around the nest.  I thought the Scripture was perfect with the nest image... like the mother bird covers her babies and shelters them under her wings, our Heavenly Father covers us with His feathers and under His wings we find refuge. What a comfort is that!!!

The" dessert" option Betty gave with the CC was to bring on the patterns.  I used this paisley patterned dp and then I used a Sizzix die to create more pattern and interest in the mat for my nest.  It's hard to see in the pic but the pattern reminds me of feathers as well.  I finished my card by sewing fancy stitches, adding three strands of hemp and a feather charm, and some chocolate pearls.  I resisted adding lots of pearl swirls so that this could be a masculine card.  I hope you like this card.... and I hope you stop by Our Daily Bread designs to see these new sets before they're gone!  I know that the DT is having a blast with them and this nest is sooooo easy to color!  It's done in a flash!

Have a blessed week!

Let the Children Come to Me....

Hello everyone!  Where has this week gone to?  I wanted to play in this week's Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge and so I had to put a move on this afternoon!  I made this easel card for this week's challenge, which was based on Matt. 18:4 " Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."  The challenge was to use an image of a child or a sentiment about children, not a baby card.  Well, Our Daily Bread designs has the perfect set for this challenge... it's called Children of God.  It has several Scrpitures and sentiments that would be perfect.  I chose this one from Matt. 18:6.  I stamped the sentiment with Our Daily Bread designs Steel Blue Ink and cut with a Spellbinder's Label 4 die cut.  While in the die I spritzed it with the airbrush, using Copic # B21.  The image is a Penny Black large stamp that I stamped with Archival on Watercolor paper and watercolored with markers.  I then masked the image and spritzed the bg with B21, B24, and N2.   For the grass I used G20 and G24.  I then dotted tiny dots with my SU! Markers, Old Olive and Pretty in Pink.

The papers are:  Base - Bazzill, Pink - Martha Stewart, DP - BasicGrey Sugar Rush.
Accessories: May Arts Ribbon, Fiskars corner hearts punches, Sewing Machine, ZVA Creative Pearl Flourishes, Stickles for flower centers.  I used the Bow Easy to make this bow... so fun!

Thanks for looking!  This is my second post for the day so two big thank yous if you looked at both... but I was running out of time for the SSC!  Why not play along?  A new challenge is issued every Sunday!  I am also entering this in Practical Scrappers Challenge to use die cuts.  I used the SB label 4.  I am also entering it in Vicki's Saturday Spotlight Challenge, think little, tiny!  My verse says... let the Little children come....I hope that qualifies! :)

Shining the Light Challenge... It sings because it has a song

Hello everyone!  I'm so excited to be able to say that Our Daily Bread designs WEEKLY CHALLENGES have begun!  Today marks the first day of our first challenge and we have a whole new challenge team making fabulous samples for you!  The challenge is called Shining The Light Challenge and is posted on the ODBD blog every Sat. morning.  You can also read about it on the SCS Member Co Forum  under Our Daily Bread designs. Today's challenge is to use hearts... in any way!  How easy is that!  This is my submission for today's ODBD challenge, as well as for IC218 on SCS.  I am also submitting it to the Crafty Creations Challenge (wings) , Pollycraft Monday (things with wings) and the ABC challenge - N is for New.... this is the NEW release from Our Daily Bread designs.

My image is stamped in Memento Ink and colored with Copics.  It is one of the four fabulous New Release sets from ODBD called Sing For Joy.  The beautiful swirly dp is Anna Griffith, the green dp is Chatterbox, the base is MS Red, and the QuicKutz swirls are cut out of River Rock and Old Olive, and slightly offset to create dimension and shadow effect.  The birdhouse is a piercing template I got at a local stamp store, Terryfic Times.  I used my Ornare Piercing Tool to pierce the design and hand cut the house out.  I added little MS punched hearts for the roof overhang, and an EK Success heart cut out for the little heart on top and the heart with swirls on the base.  Did some sponging and popped the image up on dimensionals.  I split the sentiement so that the first line is on the front and the rest is on the inside.  Inside I used a new Sizzix EF and lightly chalked the raised areas.

Thanks as always for looking!  I hope you have a blessed weekend!  Please check out the ODBD Challenge Team samples... they will wow you!!!

Sing and Make Music in your Heart

Hello everyone!  Whew... I have been working on several challenges in one here today!  This is for today's Color Challenge on SCS: Basic Gray, Bravo Burgandy, Summer Sun and neutrals), Betty's Stamping in Time Our Daily Bread designs challenge #2 ( Use Sing to the Lord and add texture and dimension), The MMSC39 sketch, Betty's FTTC Anniversary challenge (cut it out and pop it up), C4c21 (Pink), Our Creative Corner (Music), Your Next Stamp Challenge (Sparkles), and Practical Scrappers (Patterned Paper).... I think that's a record for me! LOL!

I do love this Our Daily Bread designs set... Sing to the Lord!  It's been a favorite of mine for some time now!  Of course, the new sets just released are quickly becoming new favorites.  Scroll down one post for the blog hop using these sets for three chances to win gift certificates to ODBD

Anyway... Betty's Stamping in Time challenge is to use Sing to the Lord and add texture and dimension.  I stamped the image twice, using a combination of coloring techniques including watercoloring and Airbrushing.  I cut out the flowers and popped some of them up for dimension.  I painted them with Shimmerz to add sparkle.  For the sentiment panel, I first stamped the ODBD Amazing Grace Hymn on marbled yellow cs in VersaMark, then lightly chalked that with gray chalk.  Then I cut out the heart with a SB Heart Die, and over-stamped the sentiment in Bravo Burgandy.  I hand drew a slightly larger heart on BB CS and then on Basic Gray.  I distressed all the edges and layered them, cutting the gray in half and only showing a bit of gray on one side as a shadow effect.  All layers are distressed with a T Holtz Distressing Tool.

My paper is a base of Bravo Burgandy, unknown yellow marbled cs, and the DP is Flair Designs Coming Up Roses.  I added more dimension with a wired ribbon from Michaels and ZVA Creative Pearls.  Although I really struggled with these colors, I am actually happy with the end result.  I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

When you think of God's Amazing Grace, does it not make you want to Sing and make Music in YOUR heart to the Lord?

Now on to my projects:

I first saw the idea for this birdhouse used by Christine  and  I used the basic pattern for this lantern box on Stampin Mindy's blog, but making it a bird house.  The Chickadee image is from the new Feb. Our Daily Bread designs release, You Will Find Refuge, as is the tiny nest I stamped on the inside of the card.  The sentiment is  from the new release, Nest.  I used designer paper from My Big Idea, Gray Bazzill and lots of T Holtz distress ink in Walnut Stain.  Shingles are made with layers of punched edges with Fiskars Threading Water punch.

For the card I made my own template based on the bird house box.  The dimensions are 4 1/4" wide and 5 3/4" high.  From top (fold) measure down ea. side 1 1/2" and make a dot.  From ea. side at top measure in 1 1/4" inch and make dot.  Draw diagonal line dot to dot and cut.  I cut the circle with my SB circle and placed the sentiment inside the card.  Cute irl.... but hard to photograph without shadows!

Accessories:  Cuttlebug Corner Die Cut, MS Lattice Punch, Fence Punch, Greenery Punch, Prisma Pencils and Gamsol, Spellbinders Small Classic Circle die cut, Acetate for box windows, chipboard for box base and base of lid.

I was just so excited about ALL these new sets this month that I just had to show you another project I made, using the set called Nest.  I used this Lang Mug as my inspiration and I think these would make a great themed gift idea!

This card is on a Cranberry Crisp base and used scraps of designer paper from SU! Recollections, K&Co, , a.t.d. Great Outdoors Scrapbook Kit, and the Paper Co.  The image is stamped on Very Vanilla and colored with Prisma Pencils, cut with a Spellbinder's Label 1, sponged while in the die and layered onto Cranberry Crisp and torn marbled gold dp.  The ribbon is from my stash and the pearls are Queen & Co.  Wouldn't this make a great gift with the mug filled with some goodies?  These sets are so versatile!  I have a ton of ideas running through my head!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have enjoyed my projects~  Now on to enjoy the rest of the hop!  I can't wait to see who will win!!!

My Secret Scripture Words are:  said to
