A Day Hemmed in Prayer
Hello friends! I hope you are all enjoying this last full month of summer! We are enjoying our time off as we are celebrating our 40th anniversary! I worked ahead on my cards so I could continue at least some posts, but technically I am on a little break from card making right now. It's hard to believe that I have been married to my wonderful hubby for 40 years! Time really does fly when you're having fun!
Today I wanted to play in this week's Shining the Light Challenge, which is to think Seamstress, notions.... whatever as long as it follows the seamstress theme. I made this card using this month's release from Our Daily Bread designs, "Weave in Faith", which is one of the "Full of Grace" series. I just love this sentiment! I think of it in terms of the trials we face every day.... as spouses, as parents, as employees, as care givers to elderly parents.... whatever trials we face in our day to day activities... prayer is sooo important! So often we wait until our day does start to "unravel".... and THEN we pray! We need the reminder that the day should be "hemmed" in prayer as our first priority... and then it's much less likely to "unravel". I decided to stamp on an open weave linen from Hobby Lobby with Stazon and frayed three sides, then I hemmed one side to create a visual of what the sentiment says. I added three little buttons from my stash and matted with dp from g.c.d. Studios, Ella Blue. The base is MS, sponged with distress inks. The ribbon is May Arts silk and the flowers are ZVA Creative and Prima. The lace is from Websters Pages.
I am also entering this in the following challenges:
Inspire Me Fridays - always anything goes, Mami Doodles - flowers, Phindy’s Place - anything goes, Craft Us Crazy - Anything goes in August, Sassy Studio Designs - SIO - Lets get sentimental - Use a sentiment on the front, Southern Girls - photo inspiration*, Crafts and Me - #46 anything goes, Creative Belli - #123 non-paper materials, Paper Shelter Challenge - #25 flowers, Truly Scrumptious - #62 buttons and bows, Top Tip Tuesday - Blue, green (leaves) & brown, Elephantastic- layers, Mark's Finest Papers- Anything but a standard A2 card, One Stop Crafts- Sentiment as focal point,
I hope you have enjoyed this card and that you will get your sewing out each morning, to hem each day in prayer!
hugs,

Grace, this is so beautiful!! Awesome sentiment! Congrats on your 40th anniversary! Blessings to you!
Congratulations on 40 years! Wow, I always will remember a former co-worker telling me that when she had been married longer than she was single, how weird it felt. I wondered how I would feel. Now after 21 years I think I'll feel just like I do now, like I did on our wedding day...like we just met and like we've been together forever all at once.Your card is absolutely gorgeous. I like the Hemmed in Prayer sentiment and reminder. Have a fabulous time with your husband!!!

Hi Grace!
40 years..how lovely. I have ten more to catch up. congratulations.
Your card is so soft and beautiful. Those two colors of brown and blue looks gorgeous together.
I love the sentiment...how true. How often we can wait until we unravel before we cry out to God. How important to put the Lord first in our day and then everything else will fall into place. when the trials come, and they do, then we are strong to endure them.
I love that blue lace on your card and the lovely little heart buttons. The embroidery is super on the frayed linen piece.
Hugs Maz
