Our Daily Bread designs Nov. Release Blog Hop and Challenge!

Hello everyone!  Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs November Release Blog Hop!  If you came here from Silke's Blog, you are in the right place!  If you happened on my blog but did not start at the ODBD Blog, you really should go there and start from there!  The reason is that there are secret words hidden along the hop which you need to collect along with the name of each Designer.  Then you will return to the ODBD Blog and leave a comment that you have visited all the blogs and  a special email address will be given to you so you can email me with the secret words you found in the correct order.  That's all you have to do for the chance to win the ENTIRE NEW RELEASE this month!  That's three GREAT new sets that will help you with all your card making needs just in time for Christmas!!!

Now... on to my project for today!  I made this card and ornament set using "Blessed Christmas".   Our Design Team Challenge this month was to make a Holiday Card and make it Shimmer!  Unfortunately shimmer isn't always easy to photograph, but let me tell you, ODBD owner, Kelley Holland sent us all some GREAT designer papers that have shimmer, PLUS we each got a bottle of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, so these projects shimmer all over the place!!!

I stamped my sentiment once and  image three times with VersaMark and heat embossed with Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder by Ranger.  I watercolored with Real Red SU! Marker and Our Daily Bread designs Olive.  I sponged around my panels with Chocolate Chip and spritzed with Honey Dew Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels.  LOVE this stuff and you are going to see a lot of it today!!!  Then I painted on Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist with a paint brush, being careful to stir it up with each "dip" so that I got the glimmer!  Next I cut out two of my poinsettia images with varying petals and popped them up with dimensionals.  My main panel is a Spellbinder's Label 4 and the sentiment is on a SB Ribbon Trio #2 die cut, off of which I cut the ribbon slits.  I decorated the inside of the card with the DP and EK Success punched edge.

Card Details:
Card Stock: Papertrey Dark Chocolate, Brushed Gold - The Paper Co.
Designer Paper: S.E.I. Peppermint Bark
Accessories:  Spellbinders Lattice Pendant element plus the negative parts, Spellbinder's Label #4,Spellbinder's Ribbon Trio#2,  Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, EK Success Edge Punch, Memory Box Gold Beads, Gold Metallic Rub Ons, Glimmer Mist

Now I decided that this designer paper and stamp set were so pretty I wanted to make an ornament with them as well.  So here is what I came up with:

I bought a simple cardboard type oval ornament at Hobby Lobby and covered it with the same papers I used on the card.  I cut out a lot of the vines and leaves to attach it to a Label #4 and popped up all the layers of the Poinsettia the same way.  The side is a strip of the designer paper which I punched a tiny hole in for the gold cording to pass through.  On the back is a little something fun we do in our family on Christmas.  Every year we wait until everyone has opened everything they have... sometimes we go eat dinner and play for a while... but then one of us will say... "you know... I think there was one more thing...".  Thus begins the "hunt" tradition that  they still love no matter what age!  The hunt usually starts with a clue hidden somewhere in the tree.  Every year I have to come up with some new idea on how to hide it.  So this year I made a little pocket on the back of this where a clue or even a nice crisp $$ Bill could be tucked!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my project! Now from here you need to go visit Connie.    Before you go... my secret word is "born". Be sure you are keeping a list of all the DT Names so you can write their secret word next to them and email that to me at the address given on the ODBD Blog at the end of the hunt!  You have until 8 PM EST on Tues. Nov. 3rd to email me the secret word/words each designer had!  Remember...One LUCKY WINNER will win the entire release!
One More Chance to Win...

Please be sure to check out the ODBD Blog post  "November Design Team Challenge... "Show Us the Shimmer to join our Design Team in this month's Challenge!  The challenge this month is to make a Holiday Card and make it SHIMMER!  There are many ways you can do that... so this is easy enough for all to play along!  You might use Shimmery Designer Paper, Glimmer Mist, Shimmerz, Twinkling H2O's, etc.  Just show us the shimmer so fitting to the Christmas season!

Everyone is invited to play along!  You DO NOT have to use Our Daily Bread designs stamps to win, but if you have them, we LOVE to see them!!!  Link your card to the November Design Team Challenge Thread on the ODBD Blog by Nov. 15th by 8 PM EST.  There will be a $30.00 Store Credit given to the winner of this challenge!  Come on...Show us the Shimmer!!!
