Praying for you in Indian Summer

Hello everyone! I am so excited today! My friend and fellow ODBD DT Member, Chris Olsen, otherwise known as Glowbug, was today's Featured Stamper on SCS!!! Well.... let me tell you that her gallery is more eye candy than I can handle in one day! I could spend all week in her gallery! But I set my sights high and chose one of her signature cards that is simply layered up and embellished up to the hilt! I just had to try this gorgeous card! I should know better than to try to case somthing so close to perfection... but I had to try!

I changed the colors a bit, the papers, the set used, and I omited the paper clip with the pearls. I did however remain true to the basic layout, and I did use an ODBD set, as well as a Chelsea Rose Prima from the ODBD Store.

I started with a base of So Saffron which I sponged with T Holtz Distress Ink in Fired Brick. Next was a layer of Cameo Coral, also sponged, followed by a layer of Bo Bunny red designer paper, and then a layer of BasicGrey Indian Summer. I did sew on this card, but only one layer. I just got a new sewing machine and this was my first time playing with it! Can't wait to see all the pretty stitches it has!!! I used Spell Binders Lattice Pendant, Flourish Accents, and Ribbon Tag Trio #2, as well as my EK Success Edge Punch. I sponged some unknown gold satin ribbon with the same ink and tied it with gold cord. I was dying to try metallic gold thread today like she used, but with so new a machine, I didn't want to risk that until I have a better feel of the machine, because often metallic thread is difficult on sewing machines.

My sentiment is from the Oct. Our Daily Bread Designs set "Praying for You". I stamped it with VersaMark and embossed with gold.

Anyway... That's a wrap for today! Chris... it's nowhere near as gorgeous as yours but I hope you still like it! Congratulations! This is soooo well deserved!!!

Have a blessed Sunday everyone!

This is an absolutely stunning card. I especially love the way the ribbon is tied to the phrase. What a beautiful "gift" this card would be for someone to receive.

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment, I appreciate it and I got to look around your beautiful site.
